I dont know how it is in India (property wise) but maybe the house were mortgaged and she had problems paying for it as sometimes tenants can give hard time paying rent

Lawyer duty is to save his client ... She didnot do any murder but not able to pay her loans. So she did bankrupt instead of suicide...

Many go to the level of suicide when they go bankrupt
