Did Ranveer deserve Filmfare award of Best Actor for Bajirao Mastani?

There were so many great performances that year. He won it over Akshay in Baby, Ranbir in Tamasha, Big B in Piku, Irrfan in Piku, Irrfan in Talvar and Nawazuddin in Badlapur.

Irrfan and Bachchan were better.

Its difficult to play a historical character. Ranveer didn't just wear the costumes. He became Bajirao. The mannerisms, the walk, the ACCENT...freakin nailed the Marathi accent. So ya he completely deserved it.

Bajirao is Ranveer's finest performance to date (though Gully Boy comes a close second). He was mesmerising as Bajirao. Even now years after the movie his final scene still resonates hard with me. He was great so yes, he absolutely deserved it that year.

Absolutely.After watching Ajay in Tanhaji(who for me is one of the finest actors we have) I have come to realise how difficult it is to play a historical character.And Ranveer literally nailed the character of Bajirao.

100% He brought gravitas to the role. I like Bajirao so much more than Khilji. That last scene. Incredible.
