I didn't noticed too much yesterday but one thing I noticed that when ever he hear Maya's name something stir inside him maybe am wrong or like you noticing too much.

Yesterday we saw a trait of season 1 Maya but there was still a difference ,this Maya's fear is really very deep and for now she's not ready to face her fear or I say MJ

Rudra's way too smart or I say he know his father too much that's why he knew what his father is capable of do

But really didn't liked the way he talked with him ,even though he's bad but calling him a kachra is way too much ,MJ was really heartbroken with his behaviour

Maya's not going to trust Rudra do easily, even though she seeks comfort in his arms but his touch reminded her of her painful past

@ Bold: Agreed here, but, at the same time, Rudra said a lot of stuff in anger and that's another human trait. We say a lot of stuff when we're angry and later regret it. I wonder if they'll show Rudra regretting those words.

Shreya, your psychoanalysis on the developmental aspects of most of the characters in this serial is accurate.👏 As you rightly mentioned, the symbolism is playing a vital role in this serial-- esp while dealing with or defining Maya's psychology, her inner conflicts, by investigating the interaction of her conscious and unconscious elements and bringing repressed fears and conflicts into the forefront, in a way which made Maya's character an enigmatic one, difficult to understand and arduous to define! Her conscious effort to put a brave face in front of her challengers [ Rudra now and that yet to be revealed another person, maybe her father or this MJ, or both!] and her determined attempts to project herself as a weak chick to [ Rishi and Ananya] is she not playing with herself? With her life? She is playing her superego card with Rudra, and pretending her gullible side in front of Rishi. She is playing a double game, but at the same time her wisdom is continuously reminding the right and wrong to her in the form of her recollecting those divine verses-- is it to calm her inner turmoil or to disclose her stirring thoughts?? Are we correct if we call her fears as Parapraxes? Her defense mechanisms are repression, reaction, denial, sublimation if necessary retaliation!!

Read most of the posts and worth reading, well-expressed opinions, felt very happy for being here.🤗

The Visceral Fear - Maya's fear is deep-seeded. I already commented on this earlier, but I just wanted to comment on two things. As MJ was walking towards Rudra's office, it was almost like he could sense that something was wrong. He seemed to slow down and was looking around with his eyes. Could he maybe sense Maya or is that just me seeing too much? Secondly, as Maya was hiding in fear, she kept squeezing and massaging her right hand. It ties back to the other times she's reacted when a Roy has held her hand.

MJ fears is like one of those chor ki dadi mein tinka.. he knows he did wrong and wrong will happen with him.. he dint sense maya I felt.. Mayas reaction was unexpected for me..I mean since d start they showed her to be confident of her revenge plan.. so somehow I felt how much must have happened to her to reach this point..

The Showdown - The showdown points out two important things. (1) Rudra is smarter than MJ gives him credit for. He saw right through what happened and what MJ's plan was. And he reminds MJ again and again that this ties into whatever happened years ago, something that MJ wants to move past, but can't because apparently whatever happened keeps re-happening (at least according to what they are showing and saying). (2) MJ considers himself God. Rudra said it, not me. You're not God. But that brought to light the fact that MJ does indeed consider himself God. He does everything thinking he's the only clever one, the only one with everything in his power, the only one who people should turn to. But unlike God, MJ is arrogant, egotistical, and power-hungry. He considers himself God, but, as most humans who consider themselves God, he sees down upon everyone. He doesn't help because people need help. He helps because it gives him a boost. And everything that Rudra said hit MJ's ego hard.

For me firstly when I saw maya condition It was beyond me to feel bad for MJ. Secondly rudra was pissed off since MJ tried to ruin his new found business..come on rudra almost gave his life to get maya into his company and MJ just for feeding his ego just trying to mess up everything is not done.. plus at that moment he also knew maya was sitting in the cabin.. if he wasnt rude then Mj might have even walked into the cabin..

The Foundation of Trust and the Anchor - Today's major highlight. I'm literally getting goosebumps from this entire slew of scenes. (Or maybe those are because my office is so f-ing cold!) Nonetheless, I had to go back and watch all these scenes between Maya and Rudra twice to be able to get all the details. There is so much here!

Let's start with Rudra's reaction. Rudra is able to compartmentalize his emotions well. He had a major showdown with MJ outside his office and yet he walked into his office calmly calling out for Maya as if nothing had happened. Then he moved from confusion when he saw Maya was missing to curiosity when he heard the noise from under the table to concern when he saw Maya having a panic attack. He may have misunderstood the reason for Maya's panic attack, but that's okay, because in either case he did what you would expect from someone like him. He reached out.

Maya, on the other hand, was going through a major episode and yet it took just 2 calls of her name for her to react to Rudra's voice. And instead of shying away from Rudra, she hesitantly took his hand after regarding him carefully. Something in his face, in his eyes, in his words made her believe him and trust him. It made her recant on her old words of never touching her. Two other things to point out here. Firstly, Rudra recanted his own words from the coffee shop when he had said she would reach out to him first. But secondly, and more importantly, Maya took his hand, just like Rudra had said she would in the coffee shop (you'll offer your hand), and then hugged him trying to calm herself. This was the first step towards the foundation of trust being laid between the two. If Maya didn't trust Rudra, she would have pushed him away, she wouldn't have taken his hand, and she certainly wouldn't have reacted like she did by seeking solace in his arms.

I saw first step towards foundation of trust because trust is not so easily built and especially not when you've had your trust destroyed like Maya has. She trusted Rudra for a split second, but when she realized what she was doing, she pushed away. She didn't want to appear weak and vulnerable in front of Rudra. She hadn't want Rudra to see this side of her and she definitely hadn't wanted to seek the comfort of a Roy. Her response had been visceral, but her attempt to rebuild her stoic nature was desperate. It showed her that despite her big claims that she was not to be affected, she had been.

Now I also use the words "the anchor". That's exactly what Rudra is. He was surprised when Maya hugged him, but he quickly reacted by consoling her. Trust me. Trust me main tumhe kuch nahi hone doonga. I promise. I promise, trust me. And then his outreached hand, steady as an anchor. Rudra doesn't even realize how important those words will be. He doesn't realize how important that hand was. He became an anchor amidst Maya's chaos, amidst Maya's pains. He put aside his own anger and pain to help Maya out of hers. He is her anchor. Whether they like it or not.

Rudra has a lot of questions, but I liked how he didn't ask any of them. Not then and not while driving her home. He understood it wasn't the right time and Maya didn't want to revisit it. But he will ask his questions. Right now, he's told himself that it's because of the journalists, but I have a feeling that he knows that it isn't the right answer. There's something deeper there.

I mean I can think what rudra must be feeling.. morning she came and showed him so much attitude that she is the new boss..then she calmed down a bit.. then she was crying like a scared puppy then she even smiled.. rudras brain must have been ... one thing is that rudra doesnt like to cross his limit with maya..even when she hugged him..it took him a while before he held her.. and when he touched her she held him tighter.. it was like maya stuck in her darkness and whenever rudra will actually give out his hand she will hold his hand and come out.. also rudra will always be a wall between her and MJ when time comes..

No means no - That's the second time Rudra has used those words. First time when he told Rishi that a woman's no means no and now with Ananya. The difference is that the first time he was serious, this time it was in jest because Ananya knows her boundaries and also knows what has to be said when. She isn't dumb, she is quite smart, unlike Rishi. Iske saath pehle no, phir no, forever no. Oh god, the way Shivin said this dialogue was hilarious. 🤣

He actually asked Ananya to talk to maya thinking that a woman can understand a woman better.. but actually even with the few meetings, rudra knows maya better.. when Ananya started talking, he was like ok let's go 😆.. he knows it wont work with maya..

Needing each other - Mujhe tumhari zaroorat nahi hai. Sorry Maya but you do need him. And that was established between yesterday and today. Maya needs Rudra, not just because he provides calm and comfort, but because without him Maya has no plan of attack. Lekin mujhe tumhari zaroorat hai. Rudra's response was exactly what you would expect him to say. He needs Maya now for the company. He has signed her on as an investor and without her, his business with go kaput. At the same time, Rudra is learning fast. He responded to Maya exactly in the same tone she would understand.

I dint expect a hug so soon.. I thought we will get this scene some day but later.. but then makers just surprised us.. but then for rudra it's most difficult to choose between his family and what's right.. I mean even if he hates MJ standing for maya against him to help her in the revenge will have many variables..starting from his own inner self to his mom to his bro.. so how will rudra handle the situation is much to see.. however for rudra maya to actually start feeling something strongly will take some time.. neither of them r in the mood for love or marriage as that's a part of their deep hurt.. for maya if she ever romanced MJ then it's not easy to just fall in love with his son.. and for rudra too he has somehow closed himself to all this.. so this confusion can lead to something very intense and beautiful.. hope Cvs play it right.

Rudra the driver - Bechara Rudra. From publisher to business partner to driver. Kya promotion hai. 😆 No, but seriously this was a good point and also an establishing point for Maya's character. Firstly, Rudra is driving Maya at her most vulnerable, without asking questions, and because he needs to do this. This is key because as Maya's revenge progresses, she'll have more such moments and, each time, she'll find Rudra by her side, calming her down, anchoring her, and 'driving' her to her destination. This was also an establishing point for Maya's character in Rudra's eyes. Up until now, Rudra has just seen the crazy and stoic side of Maya. Today, he saw her laugh at a joke and then also the humane side of her. He may have brushed it off casually, but the way he kept glancing her told me that he wants to know more about her. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, he's intrigued by her even more now.

That scene was really cute... I mean maya smiled for the eunuch calling him a handsome guy who is a driver 😆.. okay so maya doesn find rudra handsome.. we also do

The chemist - I know Rudra was joking that the "chemist" will kill himself, but he doesn't know how true it's going to become. He's obviously caught on that this chemist is more than a chemist, hence that comment. I wonder how he'll react when he realizes that Rishi is the chemist and (as per the precap) he does try to kill himself when Maya rejects him. Rudra is not so easily controlled Maya, you should know that by now. Telling him to drop her off is not going to work. He's persistent and will do what he feels is right, not what you feel is right.

Rishi is not gonna die.. In the worst situation either the best out of rishi will come out or his MJ blood will shine.. I feel the latter will.. he already has started to feel agitated and disturbed that she did not answer her call same as MJ is agitated when he doesnt know who the investor is..

The scene also symbolised that rudra will drive this whole maya plan where he needs it to at any given time..which btw is true..

Mrs. Roy vs MJ - I try to keep as good of an order as I can to my thoughts, but today I really wanted to keep the Maya and Rudra scenes all together, so don't mind if I'm revisiting a scene that I probably should have discussed earlier. First time we saw MJ's anger, but we also saw that all of Mrs. Roy's taunts come through anger as well. She is pissed with MJ about something. When he retorted, her expression changed from frustration to anger and sadness combined. And her words bete ko samjh liya isli toh sharab ki zaroorat padi. Mrs. Roy knows something quite disturbing about MJ that it sent her over the edge like this.

Interesting though that MJ said that Mrs. Roy wasn't a proper mother. This family is so dysfunctional. Antara is scared of MJ's anger. Mrs. Roy can't stand MJ. MJ takes his mom's taunts, but has his breaking points. Rudra hates MJ. Rishi seems to be the only one holding this family together. Aha! Rishi is going to die. That'll break this family apart. Maya's perfect revenge.

U know there was this show ipkebp if anyone has seen.. the father in that was a very godly man.. his sons worshipped him..he was so calm and composed and on the back of all this he would physically abuse his wife.. he was two diff personalities.. MJ I feel is the same.. his mom knows him well.. Antara cant do much.. she must be putting up due to her sons . And seeing what happened to maya and her fear.. I am waiting to see what is this MJ...

I hope the rain scene is on Monday.. I wonder what it is.. also maya dialogue about the eunuchs also make me feel that MJ took away all of Mayas options to earn and then she rose and stood on her feet as a writer.. also I still feel rudra has connection to Maya past.. esp when he told Mj that u helped me in the past and somewhere we know it would have been about a girl as rudra now doesnt allow rishi to talk about his girl to Mj..

Yep, but maybe later on. Will they ever show Rudra regretting those words? And should he regret everything he said to MJ?

@namu guess ur referring to "is pyaar ko kya naam dun 2.0"? Nice observation. Also this MJ-Maya-Rudra situation reminded me of Maryada where the female lead was abused/molested by her father-in-law and later his son falls in love with her and it takes her a lot of effort to not just reciprocate emotionally but physically too. I can see MayRa having quite a challenge when they set out on a romantic track.

Exactly, even I have seen that show - Maryada. There too the older brother hated his father, and the younger brother idolized him. And the wife was always busy painting a picture of a harmonious family in the eyes of the society and the father was always very annoyed and disgusted with his son. Going along the same lines I believe. But this is more of a thriller and also somewhere it also has a hidden message of women empowerment which they will highlight later when Mrityunjay is exposed as the devil in his full glory.

Yes maryada ,I was thinking where I have seen such kind of track ,but didn't able to remember the name .

But things are going to be so difficult here coz MJ didn't molested her but had some romantic relationship with him which later turned out bitter but still they had some relations that too EMA so I think Rudra also going to blame Maya until he knows the whole truth

Dec 16th - Dinchak Episode

Honestly, the episode was weak in terms of analysis (especially something that hasn't already been said and done), but it was still a dinchak episode in terms of Rudra. Shivin take a bow. You really brought out the teasing and fun side of Rudra well.

Maya's love for her mother - Maya loves her mother deeply and that showed throughout. The moment she found out her mother was in the hospital, she forgot everything. And despite wanting to take a bite out of Rudra for all the teasing, she kept herself in check and let her mother carry on thinking whatever she wanted. Even Rudra noticed this right away and saw another side of Maya that he hadn't known about. Nonetheless, this is Maya's weak point. Her mother. A weak point that MJ is surely not going to miss and can and will use to his advantage once he finds out about it.

Rishi - A quick comment on Rishi. He's proven today that he is MJ 2.0 out and out. The anger, the frustration, those words, all show that he has the anger and meanness of MJ. He may not be as cunning as MJ, but that is something that can be learnt as well. It's like I said earlier, a brilliant twist would be if Rishi turns out to be involved everything or the mastermind behind everything. The guy who everyone loves and is a spoilt brat turns out to be more than that. Would be interesting to see.

Antara - Antara isn't innocent in all this. The flashback makes it seem that she knew what she was saying and what she was doing and yet she still went forward with it. Then the fact that she had to lie to Mrs. Roy and Diya adds to that. And finally Diya asking about the medicines that way. She may not be innocent, but she regrets whatever she did.

Rudra and Nandini - Beta tum Maya ki madat karoge naa? Those words are so key here. Nandini will be the one to reveal Maya's past to Rudra. Somewhere Maya is going to push Rudra to such a point that he'll go to Nandini demanding answers and she'll tell him. Then it'll be up to him to decide if he wants to help Maya or not. Maya will not be the one to seek help herself.

Rudra's claustrophobia - Hmm interesting way that Maya is dealing with this situation. What is she getting out of taunting him about death? The whole point is that he's supposed to stay alive for her revenge. Ah-ha! Hit the nail on the head. This is Maya's style of helping him get over this. Claustrophobia or any phobia, at its root, is a fear of something that could potentially lead to death. If someone faces that fear and comes out alive, then it's no longer a fear. Is that potentially what Maya is doing here? Scaring him so much that he comes out that much stronger when he realizes there's nothing to be afraid about?

Hey Shreya!

I only wanted to add two things, rest I'd read your symbolism.

1. I am glad that Maya-Antara hit and miss wasn't clichéd even if it was clichéd. 😆 The hit and miss was clichéd. But how it was done was different and cool. I am wondering how Mrs Roy changes her attitude towards people SO suddenly. One day she was cursing Diya, today she was pally pally. One day she was telling MJ to control his sons, the next day she was asking him to chill. She's one weirdo.

2. Obviously Maya had to come back for something. Duh. But I am GLAD Rudra's words were different from the usual ones during such scenes. In fact, I didn't even notice the fact that she was very rude by not turning back coz I was hooked into wondering what was going to happen next. And Rudra brought that to the fore. Rudra is next level. 👏

3. The lift scene. Season 1 had a lift scene too, that showed Maya's fear. The last episode we saw Maya's fear and how Rudra rescued her. Today we saw Rudra's fear and how Maya did NOT rescue him. However, I am SO glad that this time around Rudra isn't the knight in shining armour with no clinks. This armour is damaged and isn't fully invincible on its own. Maya and Rudra together make an invincible team/pair.

4. Was it just me or Rudra's side of the lift was still brighter than Maya's darker side of the lift? Showing Maya was consumed by darkness, while Rudra even though in darkness was still not consumed by it coz he chooses not to? Possible. I don't expect her to rescue him, though I did hope she would, false hope. 😆 But I think there will be a day when either Rudra pulls her out of her darkness or escapes from her darkness to preserve the light within him and Maya would probably realise she'd lost another chance at goodness and hope.

Edit - I just saw your post. I once mentioned that Rishi's got the calm, cunning side of MJ. We saw the calmness earlier. Today we saw the cunningness in him..what he needs is power and strength to be MJ 2.0. Power that Rudra has, but Rudra can't be MJ Coz He isn't cunning. But Rishi can be. Idk if he's the mastermind. But he can be a future mastermind to the story.
