Netflix and Amazon Prime are already being popular, they have quite a few film and TV actors and directors involved. Indian telly shows are being available immediately on services like Hotstar, SonyLIV, Voot, etc.

Disney is ready to launch Disney Plus next year to multiple countries (India included) and the price of subscription being nominal. I think it will be available with Hotstar itself.

Disney is bringing the MCU, Fox movies, all their old TV shows and movies on the streaming services. They are also rebooting Lizzie McGuire to attract the millennials. One of their first original shows on the streaming service, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (based on the ever so popular HSM trilogy) is already doing well within the limited release. Has anyone watched it yet?! I personally loved it. 😆

Of course films like War, the MCU movies, Baahubali should be watched in the theatre for the cinematic experience. They are worth it. But movies are on online streaming platforms in no time. Most web series are better than most daily soaps and movies we have. Why would people go to the theatre for most of the films if they will be available on streaming platforms within a month of their release?!

SO will cinema business be affected by the upcoming streaming services?

To some extent, but it will continue to.exist, people go to theater for a reason. The aura of the theater is the main attraction. Although if all next generation people follow this new foolish trend of "Oh I am introvert, so I am cool" wala chutiyapa. Tab public entities like cinema theater and so on, might vanish.

I think movie theatres are still going to be popular among single-screen audiences since they don’t consume streaming services much but it will make a dent among multiplex audiences.
