post maker, I also realized the only two Bollywood people who actually have a spine are women so hats off,

This is all so depressing. I understand the frustration with Bollywood not speaking out but I don’t think it would matter much honestly. Plenty of powerful people in Hollywood have spoken against the current US government and...it’s done nothing. We still have our concentration camps filled with refugees on the Southern border, naturalized citizens being stripped of citizenship on technicalities, blatant dismantling of our government institutions, escalating antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism, intolerance of essentially anyone and anything other than straight white evangelical Christians. Nothing stops authoritarian leaders except the common people being unwilling to tolerate them (or maybe an invading army). This all will continue until the common people start really protesting it or vote them out - let’s hope elections will still be truly free in US and India in the future 😒

You said it, but at least US has advantage of constitution that states only two terms for president. So at least the havoc created now has some hope of repair. In India there is no such rule and to top it all, the current administration has blatantly violated our constitution with this bill, there is very less Hope here. It’s depressing really depressing

Supreme Court will strike it down. The Bill is blalantly unconstitutional and would not come into effect. But then, the Ayodhya verdict was hijacked as well by Modi and Co. so who even knows.

And btw,anyone I mean anyone who still says Modi and BJP aren't anti-Islam and Muslims can take go take a hike. I hope their eyes have finally opened up. If not,they are islamophobic too.

India is not a Hindu nation and will never ever be. Period.

Bold: I think 'Islamophobic' is not a very good term to use here. Because all legitimate criticism of Muslims everywhere is silenced by using this word.

Also, India is constitutionally secular, but culturally it IS a Hindu nation and will FOREVER remain so.

There is lot of misconception about the bill

Only BJP learnt its lessons from Assam NRC. They realised more hindus than ,muslims came under the non citizen list and knew they have to change things somehow. Now that this is fixed NRC can target the community they wanted to target. In a country where economy is in doldrums, what a fantastic time it is to shift the focus of its citizens and make them run pillar to post searching for documents to prove their citizenship and not question them and demand action to fix the economy. Also the massive amount of money that will required to exercise the whole thing. Its the final nail in the coffin, we may never recover from this. There will be complete anarchy in the country. And where in the hell will they sent the illegal citizens? No country will take them . So more concentration camps? And who will bear the costs of those concentration camps?

Yeah. Indian Muslims or literally anyone who is Indian won't be affected if they have proof. But suppose one is an immigrant(coming here till 2014) who has no papers,they will get citizenship on the basis that they are of religions other than Islam. Why this blatant discrimination. As if India has a place for everyone except them.
