Arti wasn't faking it according to me. She clearly said that she has gone through it. She did overreact a bit bt it wasn't fake. If there would av been any other girl also she would av reacted d same way bcoz she has been very unlucky in love life. The guy she was crazily in love wid left her n then after so much courage she tried to find a new partner n he did this to her. He lied n cheated on her. I think that entire scene came in front of her bcoz hers was the exactly same story like rashmi.
