During the voting if Asim wanted then he would have gotten Shefali's, Himanshi's, Bhau's, Devo and Rashmi's votes.

Sid would have gotten Sana's, Mahira's, Paras's, Arti's and Vishal's votes.

So 5 each or in other words a tie.

Now you might assume that Devo would have still voted for Sid and I might assume that Rashmi would have convinced Devo to vote for Asim.

So either way Sid or Asim could have had a tie with 5 each but it didn't happen because Asim didn't want to ask for votes against Sid.

He told Shefali and Himanshi that he wasn't interested and that they should vote for Sid.

That is why Shefali fought with Asim because She wanted Asim to actually ask for votes.

Point being that Asim could have made the captaincy voting null and void with a tie if he really wanted to but he didn't because he wanted Sid to become captain.
