Prerna making sure to keep Rishabh informed about her decisions regarding Sneha is a good step. He gives her the freedom to make decisions and she needs his consent & assurance. I LOVE this understanding between them. My lady, My man❤️.

I absolutely loved the conversation between Menaka and Prerna. A completely different take on their first meeting. Damn, she got to know about Prerna's love for Rishabh in their first meet. So for Rishabh, he can only love Sneha, well felt the emotion for the first time for Sneha. The whole past of how Menaka had to go through PPD after her delivery is very well written. People don't understand how many mothers suffer from PPD after delivery, especially in India. Menaka got a person who understands and loves her, she took the right decision at the right time. So, now Prerna had to make sure that Rishabh loves himself first and then he loves her. Tough work.

Awesome update. Please do continue soon.

This chapter is the best one of the three for me.

The divorced couple co ordinating for the sake of the child with little or no bad blood is 👏 Kudos for mentioning PPD. and thank you for inserting 'my lady' as the endearment. I had the brightest smile while reading that part. The victorian in me is awake from her deep slumber and before i go and read some period/regency works I want to thank you. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH AARUSHII. and i am so sorry i had to withdraw. i promise to TRY and give some time to this fic as it is very close to my heart . Thank you again for doing this for me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU ❤️

|Chapter 4|

‘Scars have vanished but not healed, wounds are seething with another layer peeled.’

~Tranquility.

Brahama milk flourished his senses, starring into the reflection that held their frames in a proximity, lips entangled in a dominant war until the tongue gazed on ferrociously warm liquid. “Your dominance makes me bleed.” annoyance palpable with her scrunched up eyes and lips coated in blood twitched in response. A smirk hanging on his supple petals with camouflaging pupils turning hazel,“Shedding blood in a war of regret is minimal to the survival.”

“Blood, regret, survival? What's this all about and related here?” unknown to the latent meaning his words comprised she straight forwardly questioned.

“Blood regards for the wounds of past peeled off in the process. It would hurt and compel for failure. War of regret is the thirst of vengeance to be fulfilled, the desire and gratification we have been in demand ever since the humanity within us went off and survival is for the dedication of the devil within to break lose the hell in their lives. It's about the survival of the evil calling out to venge for their deeds. It's all about the game we began,Prerna.” ablazing vengeance in his mind contagiously held control over hers too. “Don't fall for this shit and intensify your feelings for me. All I want is to be your most beautiful regret, something you could chuckle up for instead of breaking.”

“Rishabh, what are you intending for?” Prerna's lips wobbled with the touch of his slender thumb rimming her face. His cold blows of words choking her peace.

“Don't. Don't pretend for the known. I can sense your breathes damping with the realisation of my intentions. I can feel that sickening love of yours, with your gazes. You ain't the first to this nor I am a stranger to it . I don't believe in this overtly romanticized emotion but brewing madness in this makes it palpable to my eyes.” Rishabh's words were purely coated with honey when it eventually tasted of poison on Prerna's senses. The fervor of his tone rendered her heart, clogging her mind with fear but the fictitious image of him reciprocating her love reverted the negatives.

“I'll try to. It's not easy, Rishabh.” Prerna confessed for her feelings without further arguments.

“Glad to hear your acceptance instead of beating around the bush.” he nodded at her with a face lined in grimace, and detached himself away from her clutch. She stared at him unblinking and passed a coy smile for contradiction in her words.

“Anyway, this could be dealt later. We have to tune in for what we have come together. It's the time, call up Anurag Basu while I take up the ordeals. And remember dial him up with your personal phone number this time.” Rishabh walked away to the setté placed in their bedroom, opening up his laptop and punching in the codes he cared least of a surprised Prerna lost in thoughts. With click of fingers, he signaled her and put on headphones for the process.

Hurrying forward to withdraw her cellphone placed on bed, Prerna showed him thumbs up and dialled up to her once husband and now the prey.

“Prerna.” his breathing was heavy with the gripe of pain and uncertainly it tugged her heart, though for an infinitesimal second.

“Anurag,” unmasking the hurt she felt with Rishabh's words the task at hand seemed perfect to unbolt her emotions in a secret. The husk of pain, a deep hurt and fears swarm through her breathing pattern and voice notes.

“How’s the temperature in Switzerland? Have you taken the pills? You know of your affinity with cold and...Anurag are you listening?” her slurpy vocals and an over enthusiasm accessible to the receiver at other end.

“Temperature is frigid and devoid of warmth.” an arid suction of long breathe Anurag took paused Prerna in stance, she craned her neck to look at Rishabh, at her back, engaged mirthlessly in the process of acquiring gratification to his devil.

"What about Kolkata? Have you taken your medicines? I can't afford to lose you.” Anurag whispered, his words certainly devoid of emotions and enriched with the guilt and ache he incurred but masked in pretense.

“It's all empty in the home, devoid of your smell around and rhythm of frolicking heart beneath my ears. It doesn't feel home without you Anurag. Why can't you make it quick?” registering her complaints to him. Prerna could sense her rising breathes filled with regrets and pity for him but the lest she could do now to safeguard him of pain. A passionate desire to see him wreck and bleed in seemed diminishing with the silent pleas of his voice but the devil overpowered her conscience again.

“We have lost our home quite long back, Priyu. We now rather look at each other with much pity than love, feel sorry and drift away fearing of hurtful tears lingering our eyes. That is what we have become of all. What was supposed to bring us closer has now left us stranded. May be this business trip was needed, to save ourselves sometime and peel off the layer over us. We need to be healed even if we don't forget.” Anurag's voice trailed off, innocence in him has casted a spell on her over and over again. The shrill of his voice matched to that of her own, the one from her past that rung bells for untreated wounds she had with a deeply immersed scar in her soul.

“Good night, Anurag.” guilt amalgamating in her whisper, as she declined the call.

“This could be well morphed and framed into the desired conversation. I have linked to his email ID and have deleted the voice recording for this call . C'mon Prerna, I need to record your voice over and here is the script.” Prerna heard the ruffle of papers he spread on table, emotionlessness edged on his features and not a trickle of rue.

“We would kill his innocence, Rishabh. He doesn't deserve this. It wasn't his fault.” tears cascaded down her jowl itching the blindness of vengeance she had and triggering the human once again. Rishabh's jaw gritted in wrath, his beast at it's wildest best with a gaze sending shiver down her spine. Her evil was dying when she wanted it to survive. The conscience of her soul was reverting to life and the blame goes upon Rishabh for he made her feel an emotion stronger than the hatred she has made it through the course of a year. She felt an emotion again, an emotion that wasn't burdened but nestled in the deepest corner of her. An emotion that didn't ache for loss but turned up for some gain, gain of his presence, her love for him was that emotion.

"It wasn't our fault, Prerna. It wasn't our fault still we had to boar consequences of the mistakes we never did. We lost our mothers, and that wasn't our fault too. To nourish someone with attachments and gratitude is easy but fuel a relationship with hatred is crucible. You knew the consequences before hand, and signed up for this enthusiastically. For all I want you to know is, I will get whatever I want caring least for his innocence. With or without you, but it would be made much easier for him to survive this phase if you choose to stay. Choice is all yours now.” unmoved at his insensitivity, she realised the worst of him he has always talked about. Neither a twitch in his smirk nor a crease on his shirt, a fierce glare propelled by all Satan possessing his being. This was probably the first time she could she him beneath the glare of his honey gold eyes and knitted brows, his true vulnerable and tattered self who found peace in creating hurricanes for others.

______________________________________

I seriously have no idea what it came out to be but just not what I wanted. I know it's all flat and unlike the previous PreRish encounters, may be it's just another shade of them, a darker shade this time. It's been long since I have updated and the pattern would dwell the same way considering my exams nearing and the hectic schedule I had to deal everyday. I am sorry what not giving this fiction apt time but I do have my personal priorities to look for.

I am sorry if I keep you waiting for long before I update that it eventually kills your interest. Thank you so much for all your support.

Please bear with the mess I made in this chapter. It was much needed here. It's rare I get time to pen it down and now when I have done I ain't satisfied. But if I waited for another day to start writing it all over again, I know myself well, I would lazy around or shut it down in frustrations.

All kinds of lemons and tomatoes are accepted here.

Any clarification or amendment in the chapter could be made as per the demand.

Thank you,

Tranquility.❤️

Hey, thank you for staying with me and bearing with my late updates. I am glad you liked the Meneka part. Well, chapter 4 does include a major segment to vengeance but a bit darker side.
