Whenever a star makes an appearance on a television reality show, there is always the agenda of promoting his upcoming movie. However, Akshay Kumar made an exception by coming to the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs for a mentally challenged fan despite having no movie to promote.
Says a source, "As reality shows are now hiring film stars to add to the star quotient of the show, we too, approached Akshay Kumar to make an appearance in one of our episodes. However, Akshay has no film releasing in the next few weeks and hence, getting him was not easy. Needless to say, he was not very excited about the proposal."
The source adds, "However, when we told him that there is a guest on the show who is big fan of his and who is mentally challenged as well, Akshay immediately agreed to make an appearance."
The guest in question is Tejaswini, a 20 year-old-girl who hails from Chandigarh. The creative team made Tejaswini the second guest while Akshay was the first one. "It was good to see Akshay making an appearance for a good cause. Tejaswini was jubilant when she met Akshay.
She sang Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's popular number 'Jiya Dhadak Dhadak' on the show. Akshay also did a special performance, singing 'Hare ram, hare ram' from his movie Bhool Bhulaiya," says the source.
