@Gauhargeous There have been so many female oriented hit films even before PC and Kangu entered BW. Hema, Rekha, Kajol, Madhuri...all have done such movies. Sridevi has played negative character in Beta. Smita Patil, Parveen Babi and may other mainstream actresses have done negative roles.Maybe you have seen mostly PC films so you are unaware of the work done by other actresses.

Indeed, most of the posts in this thread prove how far the cultural amnesia has gone. Insufferable PR people for the likes of Kareena know very well about the dumbing down of the audiences so they happily peddle the nonsense about trendsetting etc.

I don't recall Sri playing any character in Beta, but she did play negative characters in Laadla and Judaai.
