If we didn't know that HS was going to die we'd not have said 'how short the journey may have been', because in all honesty, I would think Minnie would come back into their lives at some point. I think the audience members who are not on IF or social media would have no idea that He would die (until they see the new promo) but there was something about this scene that had a finality to it that even those viewers cannot have missed, as if it were indeed farewell. Especially the way HS says no matter what happens you will always be my Veer Balika. That's the term he used for her since their first interaction and this might be the last time.

I don't know what MDKD will be like but I don't want to compare. I want some light but meaningful entertainment. This show made me cry so much in this past few months. It has also spoiled me in terms of quality of writing and performances, but especially the screenplay which is not usually up to this standard on ITV.

I felt this!

While watching the first episode, I immediately started to compare Nia's home with the Haveli and started looking for clues in their dialogues, direction, screenplay etc. I had to actively stop myself to not do that because this isn't PB.

He also used the saydev aap ki seva mein tatpar line. I was wondering if we would ever get to hear that line again but the way it came about... 🥺

I got that from today's scene too.

Babita may need the comforts of labels and tags to live her life but Minnie and HS don't need that. What they have goes beyond the norms of what society has established for them. Even the labeling of step-father / daughter or father / daughter isn't enough because they are beyond that. Unlike others, they just don't need labels. They have each other's love and support, that's all that matters.

Kuch rishte zindagi mein benaam reh jaate hai par iska matlab yeh nayi ki uss mein koi gandagi hai. Rather, iss benaami mein hi ek alag khoobsurati hoti hai.

Yo baat phinal hai chhori. I am just glad we got to see this today. Even though these two will separate, it still gives me heart to see them talk things out, or at least HS, who has always repressed his emotions.

The way he told her mhaare praan baste hein thaare mein.. What more do you need? It doesn't get clearer than that. It was tragic but also beautiful to watch this scene.

I'm telling you AD must have some sense of deja vu.

Yes, they have both made mistakes but not so big as to deserve being torn apart like this. Some people come into your life for a short period of time but change it forever. This is what happened to them.

You know what else I feel? If this had been a happy ending, we would have been over the moon about how things turned out, but the fact that it didn't only makes their arc more tragically beautiful, gives it an epic status. Do you know what I mean?

I do!

It's because of this tragic ending that we're left wanting a happy ending for them. Babita and HS will have at least 5 years to get some of their shit together but what about HS & Minnie? Why aren't they allowed that opportunity? Why should Minnie have to go away from the one person who not only understood her the best but also who could help to shape her into the best person she could be?

The loneliness she's gonna feel in those 5 years is just...

It's another passing of the torch.

Imarti ki praan HS mein bas ti thi and he adopted her philosophies as his own. Now, HS has said that his praan reside in her. Whether or not she adopts his teachings is yet to be seen.

You know what else struck me, Gur?

Let me see if I can articulate this... Minnie had always been a modern, smart girl and more worldly-wise than most people her age.

She grew up at the Khuranas with a decent life, and I suppose decent education too. They were a 'modern' family in terms of rehen sehen.

When she came to live with HS, she found him to be an earthy guy with all this rustic flavor. He was progressive in his thinking but that's because it had evolved over time, thanks to Imarti. However, his basic upbringing and surroundings had always been modest, especially compared to the Khuranas. He did not go to a top school, nor was he given a 'modern' upbringing, his mother seemed quite traditional form the photos, the haveli had an old-school feel to it, he himself had a very simple outlook on life as we saw with his lifestyle and dress, he did not speak English so well (we'd see Minnie correct him), etc. You get the gist.

His needs are simple and he is happy with his modest lifestyle. Given all that and Minnie's potential to be socially and economically more advanced, I don't think she could have stayed with HS for too long. He would always be there with arms open but her heart would desire much more, open skies, to travel the world, etc. You can also see in the new show promo that Minnie appears to be quite 'modern' in her dress and style.

That stark difference was highlighted in that imaginary phone call. He in the very 'gaon' style loudly asking if she could hear him, whereas she very calmly told him she could but it was as though his voice was distant, his world was distant. Even the way they were holding the phone shows this difference. The screenplay was remarkable.

I hope this made some sense. It's something I've observed since the beginning but it was really visible again today.

THIS.... The dialogues were spectacular today. So much undercurrent but so much love between them. She already has adopted a lot of it and as she grows older she will.

I think interacting with Arya will make her wonder what HS would have done in various situations and in this way she gets to appreciate him all over again.

Aakhir Minnie is the first junior HS.

Yes, and no one will live up to the benchmark he unintentionally set. This time when he said that heroes didn't cry, you could see that status restored in her eyes. Gave me some relief after that other conversation where this 'hero' label felt hollow.

Minnie doesn't deserve this. I don't think it would be wrong to say that HS has given her the love of family, identity, and sense of belonging, more than anyone else has in her entire life and in a way no one else can. She actually inherits his legacy (and from the looks of it, his haveli too).
