To be fair after everything the three of them went through, no bond is possible without the third. Babita and Minnie will no longer be the same without HS around because he is a core part of their journey and lives now. Similarly, HS and Babita cannot be just a couple without Minnie in their lives and of course HS and Minnie will not be the same without Babita around.

I think that's one of the reasons they decided to end both Babita and HS' characters. They couldn't see how to carry things forward with just 2 out of the 3. I mean, sure there is still a lot of scope but I feel the writers hit a block and didn't know how to continue, hence the reboot and season 2.
