Not even in the slightest. His ISSUE was beating up Aishwarya Rai, disrupting film sets, killing animals and running over homeless people. Like literally, that's all there is to it.
And also the fact that his acting talents were very limited. Then he got a "bad boy" image which made things worse.
All his contemporaries: SRK, Aamir, Ajay, Akshay were doing similar amount of work as per usual.
What turned things around for him was the "Being Human" campaign(?)/farce/fake charity or whatever that thing is/was. He got a PR company. They re-branded him as some kind of Father Theresa figure.
Tere naam pretty much salvaged Bhai's career who was giving repeated duds before that.

I am not talking about his personal issues, but why he had so much box office flops. In 00s had he been more choosy, his box office records wouldn't have been so worse.
Also Ajay had a terrible 00s box office wise with few hits here and there, until Singham revived his career. He wasn't better than Salman.
Aamir only did 9 movies in 00s, while Salman did 30 odd movies. So how he being used an example against Salman, makes no sense.
Yes Akki and SRK had better 00s, but that doesn't prove anything against the fact that his problem also had a load to do with his film choices, it wasn't like people stopped watching his movies due to the controversies you listed.

Apun ko nahin lagata hai Being Human se kuchh farak padela hai. Look at Kabir Singh. Apan log aise image ko lap up kar lete hain.

My point was Tere Naam gave Salman launde lapade who watch his crap films.
Pehli baat toh Looney madam, apun ko lag rela hai ki tum snobby log ke maafik laundo lapadon ko look down kar rele ho. Not cool.
Doosri baat ki bhai ke movies crap nahin hote hain. Haan Tubelight, Race 3, etc aise picture ko apan crap bol sakte hain. Lekin, e.g. Kick aisa movie crap nahin rehta. Woh entertainment ke liye hai. Aur har type ka log (marad/aurat, ameer/gareeb, launda/lapata) usko enjoy karte hain (with few exceptions which is obvious). Aur haan Bajrangi Bhaijan is one of the best Bollywood movies!

His personal issues affected his box office appeal. He cleaned-up his act with Being Human "campaign" which lead to Wanted/Dabangg era success.
He was lucky he got so many "special appearance" roles in that time, because he was too drunk and violent to function.
These are a time I liked these two. But sadly Hrithik is a dried up flop actor like Aishwarya Rai. He hasn't been able to have a hit in years!...
