People often credit Wanted and Dabangg as Salman's turning point in career. But I think it was actually Tere Naam which was the first time when Salman's rough and tough attitude was hit with the masses.

It was Tere Naam which gave Salman new fans, not Wanted or Dabangg. Agree or Disagree?

Salman always had a HUGE and MASSIVE fanbase right from his ATBB debut in 1989 till today.

Tere Naam cemented him as a very good performer as well if the role & movie requires it.

Huge and massive fan base which went in hibernation in previous decade.😆

My point was Tere Naam gave Salman launde lapade who watch his crap films.

Very much, but let's not forget the audience which makes movies blockbuster aka family audience, was always in the Sallu's pocket.

His issues during the 00s was doing dozens of movies at same time.

I watched Tere Naam for the first time in 2019. I mean I tried to watch it. I only tried to watch it because I was on a mission. My mission was to watch all 277 Filmfare Best Actress nominee performances. One of which was Bhumika Chawla in Tere Naam. And by god it was one of the hardest to watch, along with 1989's Eeshwar, but that's another story. The story of Tere Naam was quite cool I suppose, but the acting and story-telling were terrible in my eyes. Especially when you think about what a mess he was in real life at that point too. Eugh. Next.

On topic - nope

Certainly, not the movie, the music surely, and the hairstyle was a rage for a brief period. The latter is the 'Radhe' connection. The getup, the collage sequences in the first half IS what we see in Kabir Singh today.

There are films like Jaanwar, Vivaah which did exceptionally well at b,c centres but overall had low totals. Tere Naam didn't belong to this category as well. It was an Independence Day release iirc, it had a good opening and then a decent follow through. Maybe its the tragedy story.

Wanted is the real deal.

Back then, it was promoted as real-life story of Salman Khan.
