I don't know how to look up Taran's numbers?! Does he have a website too? ... Well since I go to BOI to look at numbers I'll pick BOI for now until I have more knowledge about others!

That's not very convenient or user friendly to look up numbers of old movies. I can see why BOI is seen more legit since they have a website and hold numbers for decades of movies!

Taran is the head analyst of Bollywood Hungama, so he is somewhat of a big deal. He’s their box office guru. He used to quote the producers verbatim but recently has shown more credibility. Used to hype up any movies affiliated with Bollywood Hungama. BOI was independent and that is how they came to fame in early 2000. They would never quote the producers verbatim and had their fairly accurate number tracking sources. But recently they have shown some serious bias, not necessarily in numbers but in their interpretation of those numbers and spinning the narrative. BOI and Taran are arch-rivals. By far the two biggest influencers, with also Komal Nahta that run the trade show. Every one else (Sumit, Rohit etc) pretty much on twitter is Tom, dick and Harry fanboys con artists. Have no clue but guesstimate like the rest of us.

PS. BOI numbers are quoted by all agencies like filmy companion, ormax coz they are seen as more credible. But Indian box office badly needs something independent like rentrak/ comscore. Some production houses have started affiliate with rentrak but we all know most of em still believe in perception is reality scam.

Adarsh is more credible, more professional, educated and knowledgeable. A critic may have personal likes but the good ones give every work a fair chance and then give their information, they have to have an open mind and be willing to see almost all the movies that are released plus they need a good background on public trends, journalism and economics, so they can explain the reasoning behind their opinions. BOI is biased to the point of being ridiculous they even publish lies, so clearly it is a pay to play outfit.

Depends whose movie it is ...both are biased for some actors .....Like recently inflated BOI figure for Akki's movie housefull 4 and taran's figure for krishh 3 ( i think )
