I always thought that Minnie had no perception of a father, but if looks like I was wrong. Her perception is probably that Asok plus being present is actually a father. She doesn't know how to deal with real feelings it seems.

Sadly, that is often the case with divorced fathers. BTW today I heard a story first hand which is truly sad bt at the same time totally mind-blowing... Stepfather who raised child since he was 1 fighting for custody with biological father (who was left by the mom and did keep in contact with the child) and doesn't have much hope to win.

If Minnie were underage this would be HS' situation. Not that Ashok would fight for custody.
