I believe this. I think she was at least an emotionally abused child and probably never realized it herself. I remember reading one interview of hers a few years before her death when she was explaining how she was an obedient child. She said one day as a kid she was being rambunctious her mom picked her up and set her on the ledge of the wall and told her to sit there. Mom went about her work and her day and forgot Sridevi until it got dark. When her mom finally came out and asked her why are you still sitting on the wall Sridevi replies saying because you told me to stay here. She explained it in the interview as a sign of her just being an obedient child and it seemed like she never realized how disturbing that story was.

In the same interview, she also said how Janhvi has also turned out to be the same and she would be the one sitting on the wall as an obidient kid unlike Khushi.

Since she couldn't understand how her upbringing was not healthy , she might have tried to raise her children in similar way although I believe she didn't like to act in movie as a child so did not persuaded her daughters to act

Yes she did make that comparison. But I’m not sure Jhanvi is that timid or that Sridevi would have ever been that neglectful and harsh. By all accounts Sridevi seemed like a doting mother.

Arent people bothered by the fact that the topic is about two dead people and that the people here are handing out judgments on two dead people who can no longer have a say in the matter ? 🤔

What is the point in discussing this ?
