In north especially jk punjab hp side, it is celebrated a day before marriage, Where bride's brother take shagun to jiju's house. Some people take dowry too in the name of gifts but now people rarely take dowry here which is good. But it involves a lot of keethais ka dabba and other things from girl's side including gold as shagun***. Only bride brother, sister, cousin and some uncle aunties go. It happens at day time traditionally and had lunch after it. But these days in punjab, people r doing it at night time as well as save d money for reception while having dinner for everyone and now some even do ring cereminy on shagun day. 3 functions at once lol. But at my place it happens at morning with a lunch celebration only.
Meanwhile her lovely “fiancé” is having fun at her expense according to this.
