Why was Kabir Singh such a big Blockbuster?

So I finally watched Kabir Singh and I just couldn't figure out why the film was such a big Hit. The movie is nothing special. It's too long, boring in parts and not much entertaining either. It's just a love story of a loser. How this film ended up grossing 276 Crores at box office is beyond my understanding.

Also honestly speaking, after watching the film I don't think it'll have any bad impact on youngsters. Because Kabir's actions are not really glorified. Neither the film is that regressive considering the girl herself was a doormat and was encouraging the guy to dominate her.

Because no big actor movie was releasing plus hype was good due to remake and dilaouges were abusive hits in mass got 4 free weeks and then contervorsy around movie works

It’s available on Netflix now. I like Shahid as an actor and thought to watch. But seeing how terrible the movie is from reviews, I am thinking not to. Why make myself angry over a stupid movie and ruin my mood.

and as soon as u think that Indian audience has evolved ....BOOM u get a Kabir Singh and a Simbaa as blockbusters😆

the abusive but suffering male artist/protagonist is so 2017 but it's bollywood.. that shit still runs

The music played a big part too just like Aashiqui 2, Ek villain

Sanju was also a stupid movie that glorified an idiot as well. At least Kabir Singh had a good music and acting

Except Bekhayali I didn't find a single song memorable.

People gives lecture for good acting but dont consider it as major part of film,

Kabir Singh hit coz Shahid acting also people might tired of faminism so idiotic girl like Preety is fresh air for audience
