Finally got to this scene again.....ah man, the feels when he says, "beti waali pheeling"....gets me everytime.

This scene is testament to the power Babita has always held in this relationship....he hesitatingly tried to express the feelings he had for Mini and Babita cut him a sharp glance toh wahin pe darr ke almost chup ho gaya😆

In this moment, he said nothing to reassure Babita...yeh sab was coming from HS ka own stream of consciousness....his candid emotions for Mini that he earnestly expressed....his feelings for Babita were obviously moving in parallel too but the conversation was about Mini first....

When he talked about giving assurance to Babita, he was talking about the pooja scene when he declared himself Mini's father.

But this scene was much earlier....at this time, he had barely acknowledged his feelings for Babita to himself.....but what he was beginning to feel towards Mini....that apnapan, that fikar as a father/guardian, he expressed seperately.....the very fact that he hesitated so much while saying it and fumbled when Babita gave him a look shows how much he didn't want his emotions for Mini to be taken the wrong way.

What also really made me feel bad for him is when he expressed this, toh Babita first responded with a Maa toh Maa hi hoti hai....lol and he backed off thinking Babita took it as him interfering between them.....but when she agreed that he come along for the visit to the psychiatrist, he was overjoyed on both fronts....that she was letting him into Mini's life as a guardian and even letting him into her own life by requesting that he take her to the doctor.

Thank you... mic drop.

She has always had the upper hand in this relationship and always made the power plays while he has usually followed her lead and respected her boundaries.

Absolutely. It becomes all the more clear as one rewatches old episodes....broadly speaking, the themes haven't really changed....they've become heightened in a sense.

I get more irritated by his joru ka ghulam mode now but in many ways, he was appeasing her previously also....just that it felt more balanced cuz he didn't go AS overboard and did candidly push back from time to time.

Actually Babita's sense of control in this relationship isn't that obvious to the casual viewer while watching.....it becomes more apparent when you start to view all her scenes in context.....she looks delicate and bechaari but she holds most of the cards here.....lol

By the way this one episode had SO much in it......bangle seller also showed up in this epi only.....lol a couple of other HS gems from this same epi that I also found very meme-worthy😆

Also, his expression when Babita suggested they go on his bike.....he looked like she handed him the moon....ROFL itne mein hi overjoyed ho gaya....he never needed that much from her to be giddy.

I actually don't find his post wedding behavior with her that surprising in the grand scheme of things. He always used to say Hanuman Singh hukum ka banda hai ji, and that she would be the one to decide the boundaries.

It hasn't changed that much, just that they are spending more time in close proximity after marriage.

Oh that choodi waala episode where he wanted to kick him out of the house. I wonder where those bangles are.

It has changed a bit....previously when he used to say that things will be how she wishes, what she's comfortable with, she used to be flattered and tried to reciprocate by involving him in their lives.

Now if he says it, she has a sense of entitlement in her expression....you can also call it haq, right, jo bhi....she feel entitled to him doing whatever she asks of him as his wife.

Previously there was the excuse that this relationship is still being defined so the boundaries are still being decided. Now they are husband-wife....usually once you reach this point, ideally there shouldn't be boundaries....you should be able to share everything....but these two still can't. Usually when someone makes so many allowances for you, it can go two ways....1) You start to feel more affectionate towards the person who's giving you so much regard and you try to reciprocate the regard to the same extent or 2) You start to take it for granted and feel entitled about it.

Re: choodi wala episode....lol yes, HS really resented the choodi wala for flirting with the ladies and he tried his best to shoo away the guy before he got to hold Babita's wrists😆.

Even I was thinking where are the green choodis Hs had...

After watching that episode... I had feeling that the choodis will fit perfectly in Babita’s hand and when choodivala comes back to get money as he said so... he’ll tell Hs... that he knew it was Babita in his mind... because he noticed... Hs was bit uncomfortable when choodivala was touching Babita’s hand and that’s why he gave perfect size of choodis...

Man, those epis have so much father-daughter feel in them....those were the days when HS had more assertively started inserting himself in between Mini and Babita's arguments to discipline Mini....or this scene where he sees the letter sent from the college and him and Mini talk to each other first where he encourages her to take the matter to Babita and not hide it from her.

Firstly, thank you for the screen caps!

HS being protective of Mini and wanting to fight the entire world for her is such a dad thing. It makes him so much more endearing to me.

Even recently, when Mini was beating up Khatri after he mentioned the house with the shamshaan ghat view, his demeanor and body language oozed anger and protectiveness.

@inlieu explained it perfectly that day. Him holding back from wanting to beat Khatri to a pulp for winding his daughter up so badly. He's the same dad, it's just that somewhere he thinks has lost the right to show it.

Aniruddh truly emotes with his entire body. Every single motion is nuanced and measured.

Yes, the way he gets up as he just can't see her fighting to stay strong while she narrates what happened, it's palpable how devastated he is but still tries to be strong for her. I truly believed him when he said his heart would break in two if he loses her. I hope that NEVER happens but our writers are sadistic, so who knows?

How dare the writers think we'd believe them that HS did all this to impress Babita. Jeez.

That little shake of his head as if he's saying 'damn I can't control my emotions anymore and can't continue to see my Veer Balika hurting' and then pulls her into a hug, he's done that a few times. You can see that he can't stand watching her cry.

You are going to make me cry with all these caps.

To top it off, he's a thanedaar. I'm sure he views cases like hers on a daily basis with respect to Manmeet. Are we to believe those emotions were only for the child of the person he loves?

No! He has a seperate equation with Mini. No matter what the CVs show us now, I will never believe HS called Mini his daughter to impress Babita. Maybe in that one puja scene he did it as a form of proposal, but all those other times? Hell no.

His eyes hold so much hurt every time something goes wrong in Mini's life. Yes, to an extent this is because of his own childhood and his own father. But not everything.

Especially this Manmeet case had nothing to do with that. He was so proud and happy when Mickey comes to tell Mini that Manmeet has been picked by the police. He quietly went off to the side to read his newspaper and waited for his VB to join him.

He feels her pain like she's his own.

All 3 of them seem to be making mistakes .

Minnie for not exactly telling her emotions correctly. Hs for doubting minnie , saying all those stuff to minnie and babita for thinking too much about people and being totally consumed by the thoughts of hs .so the need is to have a heart to heart conversation.
