Well the point is she cannot dictate what a woman should do. Don't we all voice for free choice? If someone(male/female) wants to fast, whether karwachauth or any other for that matter, they should do that, it's their choice. Similarly if someone doesn't want to, they shouldn't, again their choice. Problem is when someone starts raising questions on others spiritual beliefs and choices. What I mean is, in behanji ko nahi rakhna fast to mat rakhen, bo one is dictating her to do that. Likewise agar koi rakh raha h to let them be. Why preach? well it began from the point that it's Y whose life has value and worth praying and fasting for, so both X and Y get fulfilment by that theory

the reason for karwa chauth is regressive

instead if it were for their own diet and fitness then it makes sense.

this is like killing animals for sacrifice and hoping to get good fortune.. obviously you will not get a good fortune, instead a worse one

similarly why should wife make herself unhappy and hungry so that husband gets to live a long life..

it should go both ways..
