You , however were all in for labelling them "masochists" .. Thats not what i call "live n let live " .. But of course , you will have your own definitions of "live n let live" .. 😆
What is wrong in being masochists or calling someone a masochist? Its not a slur or demonym is it?

Facts are not mine or yours. Facts are facts. Unless you subscribe to the notion of alternative facts.
Anyway. These are my facts.
Asphyxiation = suffering. Being bound and gagged = suffering. Finding pleasure in acts that would be suffering to most others = masochism. Sometimes people engage in masochism out of love.
Starvation = Suffering. Fasting = Timed and temporary starvation. Fasting = suffering
Please refute them, so I can see why I am wrong in my conclusions.
Because fasting out of devotion is not suffering for everyone unlike you .. It isn't for me ..
Now if you cant get your head around this simple fact , there is no point refuting "your facts " ..
But you are right , facts are never "yours" or "mine" .. Facts are facts .. And that is precisely why i labelled them as "your facts" coz they arent facts <--- there i spelled it out for you .. 😆

@ RTH....but why do u think that women who do karwachauth are suffering?? They are not....I observe Teej not karwachauth...and Teej we drink and eat the next morning....but I am not suffering in the process....the next day when I get up and do pooja my husband makes chai and breakfast for me...because I was fasting the previous day...my husband treats me like a queen.....if one day in a whole year...I fast for him....I won't call it suffering....its love.
I remember my first Teej....and my husband was panicking that I will die or something.😆..so he smuggles an apple for me...and tells me eat this ....no one is looking🤣....and I told him that I am not fasting because someone forced me....and till date now here in USA....where no one is even watching me and even when I am alone ...I don't drink or eat because I do it willingly.
I am not saying you suffer. You find happiness and joy in what others consider suffering. I fully support your rights to do whatever brings you happiness. 👍🏼
But its also masochism to me. And mind you there is absolutely nothing wrong with finding happiness through unique means.

What if people dont appreciate being called masochists for being religious ?
Is that a good enough reason for you to refrain from calling them that ? .. And "your facts" may attest to it it not being a slur or demeaning .. Reality is something else ( and we both know it and we both know that you will stick to "your facts" regardless 😆) ..

@Bold - But that fits in the definition of masochism doesn't it.
A masochist would say "being whipped by the one I love isn't suffering for me."
Are you telling me my definition of masochism is wrong?

He is a keeper.....they say that if u observe KC and Teej...u get the same husband in all ur saat janams....and I was like....fasting one day in a whole year....and I get this man for all janams....i am all for it😆....Of course my husband disagrees....he is like why saat janams...one is enough for me🤣
Masochism: the tendency to derive pleasure, especially sexual gratification, from one's own pain or humiliation
Fasting in no way is painful or humiliating!
