Just watched Malaal on Netflix and surprisingly

I really liked it. A love story, beautifully built up and conveyed on screen with a lot of silent scenes. Did any of you have a similar experience? Of course, the political backdrop was a weak angle and the actors were new, but the story was quite different to what I had expected based on the promos. All the good songs (including the title song at the end) came after the promoted songs which come fairly early on. How was your experience watching Malaal or some other recent movie that didn't do well but you actually enjoyed watching them?

I saw this movie on netflix, few weeks back. I liked it, and i think Meezaan has talent, i do hope we see him do well... both of the leads were good, but Meezaan stood out for me. Also two songs i previously didnt listen to, liked instantly when i heard on the movie.. Nandkhula and also Kathai Kathai

It has a Sairat kind of vibe, slow building and subtle romance. Yes, I liked them both...especially the last scene in the movie. Am surprised Rajeev and Anupama downvoted this movie, it wasn't that bad.

I watched it today and loved it thoroughly . Amazing love story after ages in Hindi cinema ♥️ love that I could feel literally... Lead were really cute in their scenes as well as impressive I'm their acting. Not a moment of OTT performance.

I loved everything in the movie except the ending.

I also watched this a few weeks ago and was blown away. I almost made a topic about it here. I hadn't heard any of the songs earlier but I've had Katthai Katthai / Naad Khula / Ek Malaal on repeat. The film itself was a pleasant surprise, the young performers did so well, very refreshing performances.

Why dont these movies do well when they are mass released? I feel so bad..because these movies dont do well people shy away from making good movies and instead keep rehashing the same formula because that would fetch them the 200/300 cr!

The trailer looked like a rehash of Ram-Leela!
