It was a memorable one for sure. I've been here in Kolkata for Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja this year. The only other time I was here for Durga Puja was so long back that I can't even remember it, I was so small. And I visited many pandals in North and Central Kolkata...they were beautiful. Couldn't go to the South though. Going to the Ganga for visarjan was another thrill. So yeah, I really enjoyed it this year.😛

And how was yours?

In all the excitement I forgot to read the books you sent me. I think I'll get back to reading after 25th.

Have you read any autobiographies? I've read a few, but I think I prefer fiction. The autobiographies were solely for gaining knowledge. Currently, I'm reading Gandhi's autobiography and I've been able to finish only 20 chapters in the past two months. I found it so boring, I just want to drop it sometimes.what's your experience?

Hey gals, Happy festival season.

Been a long time. How is it going? Any recent movie or serial? Not reading any book right now.

Yes, I'll be waiting for the riddle.

I have read a Hindi book the last week. Premchand's Nirmala. It was a sad story, as I have heard most of his stories are, but it was still such a good story. I had tried reading it a few months back but found it rather boring but now I wish I had read a few more pages before abandoning it. You should definitely give it a try if you have a taste for such stories. (It was my first and I liked it.)

You definitely are on a Bengali novel-reading marathon, aren't you?😆 And with your reviews, I'm starting to get quite interested too. I think I'll just have to read the translations until I learn reading Bengali properly. It's no fun reading a novel at snail's pace.

U read Nirmala. It made me cry buckets so much. I was not much mature at that time so it left me a deep impression. The worse was I kept thinking about the end when the child and her old aunt were left alone. I kept thinking how will they survive.

Nirmala's whole life was so sad, just because of one incident. If the dowry money was not looted she wud have been married to completely different person and a happy life. I also cried for the eldest son. I wish he was the one who wud have been married to nirmala. The accusations and pain he had to go through was heartbreaking. I hated Nirmala's husband for what he put his eldest son through.

Oh wow, then it must be super enjoyable festive year for you. There are absolutely no comparisons of celebrating Durga Puja in Kolkata with other places. Even I've celebrated the Puja this year in Kolkata after 2 long years. Which puja pandals did you visit? I've visited Bagbazar Sarbojonin, Shobhazar Rajbari, Kumortuli Sarbojonin and Jagat Mukherjee Park in North Kolkata, and Ekdalia Evergreen, Singhi Park, Deshapriya Park are mandatory puja pandals I visit when in Kolkata. But this year my favorites are Babubagan and Jodhpur Park puja pandals and the idol there is just too good.

Oh, no I haven't any and frankly speaking, I've least interest in reading Gandhiji's autobiography. I was reading "Dristi pradip" but due to puja excitement and getting ready for my post-puja conference, my reading got slowed down. Yeah, you read and share how it goes.

Happy Dussera, Mannu. Welcome back. I've watched "Super 30" and "Gumnami" based on Netaji's death mystery in recent times. You guys must watch both of them if you haven't. Gumnami movie, though its been directed by a Bengali director, its been released both in Bengali and Hindi. But the movie mostly contains English dialogues. I just love both these movies.
