A marriage not consummated is legal grounds for annulment in India too, isn’t it?

Pre may have stuck with the marriage just in case her husband went after Anu yet again. Who’d want to stay married to someone who lives on terms of getting what he wants by hook or by crook? But in EK shows the meaner the better.

Nobody registers their marriage in Ekta’s land😆 So let us not even go there😆 Pre can go for an annulment but EK will never show that. Her FLs are from the 60s

With all the rituals that I presume set the base of the beautiful institution as you call it. Isn't this called as a marriage, conventionally?

Let us agree to disagree here. I don’t think physical force is the only way of forcing someone. If I am not wrong, what Bajaj did to Prerna can be considered as forced marriage which is a criminal offense.Prerna, being the naive and stupid girl she is , didn’t take the legal route.Somebody can correct me if I am wrong.

Sorry to say, as per law this marriage is legal. This marriage can be annulled but still it’s a legal process and if Mr.Bajaj refused for divorce then Prerna need to prove it’s a blackmail and that wouldn’t be also acceptable as it was not some one was kept hostage. I have experience with Divorce process in India so please don’t jump on me.

I agree she can file for divorce if Mr.Bajaj refuses but need to all valuable reason to get separated she can’t say sorry I have a soulmate or the baby as they exist before marriage.

Only way as per Indian judicial system to get this marriage annulled is Mutual consent.

In Ekta / KZK2 world breaking Mangal sutra could be enough but not in real world

Since we are taking about legality, what Prerna did is not illegal either. Making roti for ex, having one weak emotional moment cannot be classified an EMA. Also, EMA is no longer a crime in India. Again, somebody can correct me if I am wrong.

Its nt abt the "DHAGA" in the marriage. Its abt the commitment and belief in tht relationship. Its much better than a mangalsutra which becomes a noose around someone's neck.

Btw these days live ins partners also have legal rights. No ritual but their commitment to each other binds them.

But then as they say, maano toh pathar main bhi bhagwan hai na maano toh bhagwaan bhi pathar 🤷‍♀

A marriage can be upheld only when that marriage is based on equality where two parties were equally wanting the marriage ..and I don't mean wanting to marry to save someone's life sorta wanting .. marriage is the coming together of two people who want to be with each other - and just by taking saat phera with a random guy or someone putting sindoor/mangalsutra on you doesn't make you bound to them .. this is the reason for many women sticking on in their abusive marriages because they think they need to remain bound to their marital status and husband - nevermind if that husband is a first order ass*ole! If I were Prerna I would call out on all Bajaj's misdeeds in front of that huge audience that she's having in the basu house ..the guy can do nothing - kuki also doesn't need a dad who can stoop so low as to snatch away a woman from a man she loves despite knowing she's carrying his baby ..yuck the very thought is pukeworthy!!! .. kuki is a pure soul ..may she grow up with good ethics and morals!

DG i think we work on convenience of reasoning and acceptance there. I cant call it a blackmail coz it was a deal both agreed to but the terms of that deal can be termed as a marriage.

And best part love and loyalty are being expected in this deal 🤔

Nothing she did is illegal, we are just saying she can’t break the marriage without divorce.
