Angry Amitabh Defended Aishwarya's Pregnancy; Had Slammed Madhur Bhandarkar: Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday is here and since this week marks seven glorious years of filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s ambitious project ‘Heroin’, we’re going to give you an interesting fact about the then blockbuster film.
Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and starring Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead role, Heroine was first offered to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Surprised? So were we, but unfortunately after signing the film, getting things ready and starting to shoot for the same, Aish had to leave the film.
Reason? Her pregnancy. Aishwarya was expecting her first baby (daughter Aaradhya Bachchan) with husband Abhishek Bachchan and hence she decided to not be a project of the project and leave it mid-way. However, Aish had not disclosed any details about her pregnancy to Madhur before starting shooting and not even while shooting various portions and this irked the director and once when things were out in the open a lot of mud-slinging took place back then.
Reacting to Aishwarya’s pregnancy, Madhur had said,"The entire event would not have taken place if on the onset the actress would have informed the state of her health and impending maternity. The truth was hidden from us. We learnt about the entire thing from news channels like the rest of the world that the said actress was 4 months pregnant."
The filmmaker was completely shattered as it was one of his ambitious projects and had also revealed that he was utterly devastated by the whole incident. "This decision of pulling the plug had a devastating effect on me. It was like an avalanche collapsing on me. I was in a state of total shock and depression. I have been working on the script for almost a year and a half. I could not come to the office for almost 8 days for the fear of facing those people whose bread and butter depended upon the film. Because in true sense, these people were the worst affected by the turn of events,” shared a heart broken Bhandarkar.
Further adding to it, he said, "The entire crisis would have taken a humongous shape had the truth not being unveiled when it was.... With 65 days of shooting remaining. It would make the concerned actress 6-7 months pregnant. Cinema is a visual medium and keeping in mind the physical state of the actress the total interpretation of the character of a diva and the story would land up in major jeopardy post 65 days of her pregnancy."
Later, on a concluding note and also revealing the whole story on his blog, Madhur Bhandarkar said, "I am still reeling in a state of shock.... But still chose to remain silent all these days; but was coerced into breaking my silence... as I realized that truth deserved to be told."
While Aishwarya decided to stay mum about the whole situation, it was her father-in-law and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan who decided to give it back to the director. Big B not only defended her Bahu (daughter-in-law) but also strongly slammed Madhur.
In his statements back then, Amitabh had said, “Everybody knew that Aishwarya was married when she signed the film. So you mean to say that actors can't get married or have children? I don't think this can be a part of any contract that you cannot get married or have children if you’re working in a project.”
Talking about present times, Aishwarya and Abhishek are happily enjoying their married life and their time with their seven-year old daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan.
