I guess the writers are saving that for later. Right now HS’s full focus is only on Babita....he seems scared to tackle or approach the issue with Mini.
What’s obvious is that something has changed between them but Mini is handling it more maturely than him. She isn’t shutting him out despite whatever hurt she felt. She still considers him a good man, likes him, trusts him for her Babes. But she isn’t thinking beyond that.
Yesterday he said sorry to Mini for not being able to handle her mother despite promising he will keep her happy....that was a tell about the breakdown in their equation...he also thinks their equation is only dependent on how much he takes care of Babita. The Mini who was once ready to tear the world apart for anyone who hurt her Babes now calmly gave understanding to HS in that scene. I was left wondering if her character has actually changed to that level or she’s just moved HS down from the pedestal she had him on and stopped having much expectations from him. And along with the loss of expectations, that natural haq she exerted has also been lost to some extent.
He doesn’t know how to communicate with her. He’s too scared....he’s scared of both mother and daughter Waise toh. Lol
I keep thinking of the time he said to her “tu first hai”....aajkal woh feeling nahin aati despite the happy family morning scene yesterday.
I think it's all still there in his heart, his love for Minnie, and his intent to do right by her, but the way he is behaving now doesn't surprise me. Just like after the Imarti track, HS didn't really talk much with Babita and refused to address any of the issues between them or make the first move, he's doing the same with Minnie. In fact, this time it's even worse because their equation has always been one of openness and honesty. He never needed to hide behind anyone or anything in order to communicate with his Veer Balika.
The way he walked in to the house yelling for his Veer Balika, made me feel a pang because I knew that he knew she wouldn't be at home. Where once he really would have been calling for her upon coming home, in fact not so long ago HS and Lala had done a driveby to the shop just to check on his daughter, today he is just maintaining his distance.
I think he is afraid that if he brings that CD topic up with her, he would come face to face with the truth, that she doesn't love him or want him as her father, that he can never have that place, authority, or right in her life, to raise her and strive for her happiness in that role. So he's doing the next best thing, being a good husband to Babita and taking some of the burden off Minnie. If the closest he can get to being in Minnie's life is as her mother's husband then he would try and excel at that. Which is another reason he was so upset about what happened with Babita. If she had only married him for Minnie but not for herself, then she could leave him for Minnie too one fine day. He would lose both of them in one go, and I think his dialogue confirmed that.... Mhaare jeene ki aakhri umeed.
I could be totally wrong, but this is what I've been feeling. I also felt really bad when Minnie left for college in the morning and kissed Babita but didn't really say much to HS as she would have done in the past.
I think it will be mind-blowing when they reconcile.
