What verdict will AAA, DCH and TZP will get if released today?

Some people will say all 3 will be blockbusters considering how amazing films they are and how big Aamir has became as a Superstar compared to previous decade or before.

But I think if Andaz Apna Apna, Dil Chahta Hai and Taare Zameen Par are released today, they will get a very different reception both critically and commercially than what they got in their release time.

There are many movies inspired by AAA and DCH so they will not be considered as path breaking. AAA will be dissed by critics like any other comedy film. But it'll still be blockbuster because of Salman and Aamir coming together. DCH even if released today will only appeal to urban multiplexes and will get a hit verdict at best.

Taare Zameen Par had Aamir in a supporting role and it made alot at box office despite that fact. I think if released today it'll at least cross 150 Crores.

Although, the only classic films of previous decade Aamir had which will get blockbuster verdict if released today are Lagaan and Rang De Basanti.

With same cast ??

Taare Zameen Par will be a huge hit today even today. There is so much more awareness. Its a wonderfully made film and it will find a greater audience. Can you imagine the online WOM.

Dil Chahta hain not so much. It is cult because urban male buddy movies were rare then. The idea of bromance too. Abhi toh its everywhere.

AAA will break all records. First day. Total. All of them.

Same cast and setting:

AAA: 700 crores, ATBB

DCH: 185 crores, Hit

TZP: 250 crores, Blockbuster

The WOM would be off the roof for AAA. And, TZP's critical acclaim would be unparalleled.

There are many flop movies from the 90s that would work today. But movies like Biwi No. 1, Darr, Baazigar, KKHH, Pardes, Bandhan, Ek Ladka Ek Ladki, etc. would be negatively perceived by feminists/SJWs. Critics would slam them because many critics analyze movies from a feminist/psychosexual standpoint these days.

Imagine if Tere Naam had released today. The uproar Kabir Singh created would be nothing in comparison. The film would have ended up crossing 350 crores and would be an even bigger cult than it is today.

I didnt like TZP but it had a blockbuster verdict when it released. How much better could it do now

i dnt think AAA wud have 400-500cr grosser

but starpower of both will give it a shot 250-300cr atleast

TZP would definitely get a blockbuster reaction. It’s not a ‘trend’ film and would very much appeal to a lot of families and youth. It just has an appeal that crosses generations.

AAA would smash first day earnings. It falls into the comedy trend that seems to come back every few months, and it’s actually an incredibly well written comedic film.

DCH I think would have a harder time at the box office because of its niche genre.

All three r considered cult films in their respective genre and it will be the same If they released today.

DCH is timeless..appeals to youth over generations..I saw DCH and JJWS as a teen and even my kid loved these movies.

AAA is a complete entertainer..TZP is a well made film that would touch a chord anyway
