In Trudeau case timing is the big give away just before elections. He should spin in it around and go full emo in interview and say am forever indebted to people of colour. Otherwise this middle will engulf him.

lol at the Hawan thing 😂. I agree on Trudeau thing his apology looks so Hal-assed. He will need to try harder if she wants people to move past it.

Hawaii Havan 🤪 sounds so exotic.

Trudeau had less chance of winning already this can be like final nail in the coffin or a golden chance for spin over.

Not only Ari, but many people namely the Kardashians/Jenner’s do it as well. Not only is it black culture appropriation, It’s also to appear racially ambiguous which makes them more appealing.

If I looked at Kim K or Ari etc, I couldn’t for the life of me see a white women, which is what they are. They look middle eastern/ light skinned African- American/ etc...

She spray tans herself 10 times darker to profit from faking herself as racially ambiguous. She is a white woman from Florida. Why no one calls out this donut licker for brownface/blackface is beyond me.

If only my eye roll emoji worked in this forum.

Racist white people aren't enough to deal with we have to attack each other based on who is really brown?

Newsflash: In America, white people have historically considered Hispanics and Italians NOT white and in fact BROWN. They were discriminated against for decades - they are still in some places and circumstances. Certainly Hispanics at the moment much more but you don’t have to look hard to find anti-Italian stereotypes. Now they can opt in as “white” on public forms if they want but that isn’t the way it used to be. You can verify that on US census forms (try Ancestry.com if you feel the need) where “Southern Italian” was listed as race (to differentiate them from the “white” 😉people in Northern Italy) in the past.

It took me literally seconds to google childhood photos of Ariana that look like what many many white Americans would call a brown child. And SO WHAT?

Think about this, in the past in America people of color routinely and uniformly tried to look as white as possible. Blacks discouraged other blacks from not actively trying to emulate whites - from clothes to hair to speech. Black people who could “pass” as white did - sometimes completely cutting ties to their birth families because racism made that choice less painful than living authentically. Today people are embracing (maybe even enhancing) their non whiteness. That is a profound shift. White is no longer always right and always preferred. Hurrah!

Speaking of people of color feeling pressure to emulate whites...OMFG is this a real commercial or a parody? Please let it be a parody.
