Idk whether this is done on purpose but it’s not doing anything to make her stronger. It seems like she always needs mini by her side telling her the same old stuff (don’t worry what ppl say for eg) over and over again. I’d have loved to have seen her reach a certain point where she can hold her own without always coming across as child like and needing babying. I’m beginning to wonder whether the story is meant to be told more from mini’s perspective than babitas.

She's meant to be this way for a while and I think the marriage itself will force her to introspect. She finally married the man of her dreams, she can finally do all her nakhre and farmaayesh with him and he will gladly pamper her, she can finally speak her heart out to him without fear of judgement or needing to justify herself at every step. She also now has the official license to shower him with love if she wants to, express her emotions, and demand love and affection from him in return. Why not make the best of it?

Very true 😆

That patience hardly exists in today’s world, let alone in the storytelling. So we hold on to this show as a marvel even if it falters a bit sometimes. Lol

You know, sometimes when I complain about some of the hard to digest stuff on this show, I just need to turn on another one and realize I have to force myself to watch the entire episode. Then I just come running back to even watch old episodes of this show and jump on to the forum because all this is LEAGUES ahead of most of the stuff on ITV right now.

I know we want Babita to step up but I also feel that there's so much complexity in all their lives that she alone cannot solve it or deal with it. She still needs a lot of help to get over her past and its baggage.

I do agree with you on this as well.

Yes, it gets disappointing and frustrating to see Babita not stepping up at crucial points but it remains true that their lives are super complex and she will need support to help tackle it.

What happened yesterday would be hard for even a normal person to juggle....Babita is further handicapped by her own issues, so yes she will need help. The thing about her is that she may do it late but she does ultimately rise to the occasion.

In real life we are all complex beings that don’t react per convenience. Timing and circumstances are out of our hands many times and we try to manage what we can.

I don’t think she only blames others for those 17 years of her life. She’s blamed herself many times too for not having the strength to stand up for herself, for being naive enough to be taken for a ride. There’s a lot of self loathing mixed in with the self pity.

But then again, she’s not the only one into self pity in this story. Lol

I don’t think she’s completely fading, but yes right now, the other characters are making a stronger impact so the writers do need to evolve her towards something impactful.

Perhaps it would have been better if they showed her having completely worked out her issues regarding her previous marriage before getting into a new one. Although some insecurities will still remain, she’s still seeming really bitter even tho she herself said she felt free from her past after ashok left her life.

You’re spot on her character is complex, sometimes unnecessarily so. All these that u mentionEd about being naive, not able to stand up for herself and her saying yesterday “why didn’t u send me to ashok”, it just doesn’t tie in to me to a few weeks ago where she was all about “ego”. She’s a very confusing character, on the one hand she burns everything from her previous life to move on and on the other hand she keeps the dvd whilst deciding to marry another man.

I feel like they need to start showcasing her a bit more, in a positive way, just as they were doing during he first few weeks when the show started

Absolutely. To be honest, I think all three of them need proper therapy. There's a lot of damage on the inside, all from a young age.

Guilty also. You’ve only got to watch some of the other crap on tv to appreciate this show

The writing forces us to confront our emotions and our inner stance on various issues, how we react to events and characters, and what our thought process is along the way. Many of us are also evolving along with the characters on the show, which is no mean feat.

I also feel transported to this world and can't stop thinking about the characters on a daily basis. 😃

Yes, Babita's journey is complex but so is her character. The way it's been written provides the CVs with ample scope to explore a lot of things. I sometimes feel they should capitalize more on this but maybe I am missing something.

Same here 😇😇

Re: Babita...yes, I also feel there is scope for many more progressive arcs through her but the writers sometimes fail to capitalize for various reasons....to keep the show going, or for TRPs...dunno. But yeah, some missed opportunities are there.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Babita still hasn't developed her sense of identity. She has yet to learn who she is and proactively determine what kind of person she wants to be, rather than react to various situations and cope as best as she can. Basically, she needs to learn to take control of her life/destiny and it will take time for her to get there.

A major part of what she's struggling with is due to social conditioning, something that is very difficult to overcome. It's a drastic mindset change, coupled with the fact that she now has the added responsibility as a wife on top of being a mother of a troubled teenager.

WORD 😆

After PB, my patience for watching other stuff for timepass has also evaporated. All thoughts are consumed by this story and these characters.

And yes, when I get put off, all I need to do is watch 5 minutes of any other show which is all about objectified FLs or scheming vamps, then suddenly I can come back to PB and even take the shamelessly selfish Khuranas and cliched CD drama in stride. Lol
