I also wanted to take this opportunity to say a big thanks to you for your amazing posts. I feel as if your thoughts mirror mine on so many fronts and I find myself nodding constantly as I read through your take.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts in so much detail - it's such a pleasure to read all of it. 😃

Hey thank you for the kind words :)

This is honestly just pouring out of me without control 😆....the show has just pulled so much out of me in making me think and talk about these characters I’ve become so attached to.

It’s been a pleasure to be able to discuss with you guys here too 😊

Waise since we are on the subject, the epi I chanced across that made me watch the whole show was the one right after the proposal....I had no idea about the context, but I chanced upon that scene of HS coming up the stairs, talking to Mini and telling her to never give up on her dreams. I was just struck by how naturally that conversation was conducted and the sweet dynamic b/w the two.

And then right after that was the Dil toh baccha hai ji scene 😆....and HS ki bike not starting after that, Mini teasing him and offering a ride on her scooty....then the earring scene in the end. I was just struck by the range of scenes in one epi and felt a curiosity to learn more about all these characters.

Bas phir kya tha...Rewind mode maara, found HS ka entry epi and there was no looking back from there. 😆

Yes, that father-daughter convo was one of my favorites!

That was some entry! You know, when I watched it, I was praying that he would be cool because of who he was and not because he was trying to be like a Salman Khan in Dabangg or someone who was trying to forcefully seem earthy. Mind you I hadn't known about Aniruddh then.

What got me was first the way he pulled the chair away from Minnie and said Aye chhori and then the way he said thaane mein khoon kharaaba na hone dunga, yo baat phinal hai. 😆

And then of course we gradually saw his hilarious side and dhain se dialogues, which seemed so naturally written and spoken. He was funny without trying to be and then I was blown away by the scene when he resigns and then back home he talks about Imarti for the first time.

I know the feeling. I worry and care for the characters as if they were my family members. I sometimes forget it's just a show but then remember it's not just a show. It's a treatise on society and I never cease to be amazed by how well the team not just understands but depicts emotions at multiple layers.

Haha that entry scene was a total winner....I had no idea what to expect but he instantly won me over.....as you said, he didn't caricaturize his character like Dabangg types....he was humorous without trying slapstick lines....it was a natural kind of humor.....his stern disciplinary side came through, his emphasis on honor, rules, discipline....all of it conveyed so fantastically with the dialogues and the way Aniruddh delivered them. This is the first time I'm seeing his work too and he's done a great job of this character.

You mentioned one of the absolute best moments.....lol yep, the way he pulled the chair away from angry Mini and assertively took charge.....something just CLICKED in that moment. And him crowning her "Veer Balika" after the Veer Balika puruskaar.....lol one of my other fav. bits from this time was Mini telling people, "Don't KUDIYE me".....haha

And the resignation epi.....that's when I knew I was hooked properly.....the scene with him talking to Mini about Imarti.....it was just so poignantly executed with such a wealth of emotion in it.....the language of empowerment in this show through HS felt unlike anything I'd seen before on TV.....because it was so human....they didn't show HS as a saint who was born with perfect progressive ideas.....they showed him candidly and honestly talking about how his viewpoints evolved, why he feels strongly about them now.....and that really won me over......that scene just had that perfect balance of tears and smiles.....jaise dil ko bhar de......and the ending of that scene with Babita showing up to say they won't leave the house.....that brief moment where she ever so briefly glances at HS behind Mini before looking away and he also turns to look at her before looking away......that brief exchange only floored me for the thought behind it.....how meticulously the team built up the whole backdrop of HS-Babita not even looking at each other directly for quite a few of those early conversations......itna old school charm I hadn't seen anywhere in ages.

Oh you brought back great memories. That was the scene where I fell in love with HS and I guess with Imarti and her essence. Aniruddh blew me away with his performance. I still go back and watch that scene for the wonderful way in which the surprise of his past was revealed and the way he narrated his change of heart and mind mindset based on the events of his wedding night.

Since we are on the subject of the HS entry scene, there's a couple other random things that cracked me up in that scene......

When Mini told HS that Khatri had chhedoed Babita, the way HS turns his head towards Khatri and says, "Khatri, tu Maa chhedta hai?"😆.....just something about the way he said that was so amusing to me.....lol the humor element was very well balanced in that scene.

The other thing I loved was how HS-Babita's first interaction was not the typical slow motion, breeze blowing, eyelocking stuff that is staple fare on TV.....it was literally the most casual interaction you could think of which is how two people meeting for the first time in such circumstances would be.

Anyways, since we were talking about that chair scene, I ended up making a couple of gifs on it as well.....lol

Man, how far has Mini come.....she was just filled with so much angst and anger back then for all she had had to face....like the chair scene shows, HS literally pulled her back from the brink....otherwise her anger was on the path of utterly consuming her.

ROFL I'd forgotten that in that epi when Mini-Babita made the "Khatre" and "Faayde" waali list to decide whether to stay in HS ki haveli, Babita had listed one "khatra" as HS having "gunde jaisi shakal"🤣🤣

That entire Chappal Chor case was damn funny too....HS ke dialogues in the mandir scene....."Mata Rani ke bhakhtjan ghane talented ho gaye hain, Laale....Chappal Jooton mein bhi lagaa rakhein hain taale"🤣

OMG all the memories gushing down the memory lane like this!☺️

Now I need to watch those things again! <3

Honestly, I fell in love with HS in the resignation scene. The diligence in his eyes and those emotions just bowled me over. And then during the Imarti case, when there was a major throwback to that scene, I couldn't help but accept the wonderous and intricate writing

CVs need a standing ovation for that!

I had posted here too, in the very early days, that I wanted HS to be a widower. And voila, it turned true! Initially I was apprehensive if they would follow the Dabangg path but then Hanuman Singh is a label and category all by himself now

@AreyYaar - the ease in which HS pulled the chair back from her, that too single handedly is 👏 From day 1, he has been guiding and helping Minnie out. It's the same thing with the other kids. Play and have fun, but also be vigilant about what goes on around you.

LMAO, that pros and cons list is one of my absolute favorites, especially Babita saying HS has a gunde wali shakal. 🤣 I've often wondered if they would ever revisit the list and update it. Most importantly, whether or not her opinion has changed on his shakal. 😉

@Mahi - I think Imma rewatch some of the older episodes too. Just look at how far we have come from those days. <3
