He should do a role reversal instead. Cast an older actress like Madhuri or Ash in Salman's role and get a younger actor like Ranveer to do Alia's role. Now that will be novel and interesting. An age appropiate movie I will so pay money to watch.

Majority of the public would not watch it. It would turn into a small arthouse movie even if it was really well made. It would need to be made with a shoestring budget which Hirani can never do.

Most mainstream actors would also steer clear. None of them are as progressive as they pretend. At most, they might be able to get someone like Rajkumar Rao.

I mean, you can write a compelling story without pairing a father/duo daughter as an awkward couple. He seems determined to cast Alia so there aren’t many choices of ML around who could carry such budgets and looks good with her. Hrithik possibly too.

SLB is not known for his strong scripts, that’s never been his forte so don’t expect him to reinvent the wheel.

I doubt it ever get made lol
