I'm in the favour of mixing the salaries and having a joint account. It shouldn't be considered ki kisne kitna kamaya. Cause a business income will obviously be more than a honest police inspector's salary and I don't want people saying thanedaar apni biwi ke kamayi ki khaa raha hai. Cause aaj bhi if a woman earns more, it's a problem.
