When Ranbir Kapoor confessed cheating on Deepika Padukone out of immaturity!
In a throwback interview, Ranbir Kapoor had confessed about cheating on Deepika Padukone with Katrina Kaif!
Apart from his charming looks and versatile acting, if Ranbir Kapoor is known for something it is his relationship with Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. Ranbir’s on-screen as well as off-screen chemistry with both the Bollywood divas is really commendable and had made his fans fall head over heels for them.
It’s a known fact that the 36-year-old actor had begun dating Deepika in the year 2007, when they were both working on their debut movies, but their loved blossomed when they were shooting for Bachna Ae Haseeno in 2008. But their happy relationship came to an end, two years later, when the Padmaavat actress caught Ranbir and Katrina red-handed.
After the breakup, Deepika had openly addressed the issue and revealed torturous details about the cheating in an interview with a leading magazine. Pointing out Ranbir's philandering as the reason behind them going their separate ways, the 33-year-old actress had revealed, “I have never cheated or strayed when I'm in a relationship. If I'm going to be fooling around, why would I be in a relationship? It's better to be single and have fun.
"But not everyone thinks like that. Maybe that's why I've been hurt in the past. I was foolish enough to give him a second chance because he begged and pleaded, despite the fact that everyone around me said he was still straying. Then I actually caught him red-handed. It took me a while to get out. But having done that, nothing can make me go back. That ship has sailed.”
After Deepika’s revelations, Ranbir too had opened about the reason behind him cheating. In a heartfelt interview in 2011, the Rockstar actor had told Stardust magazine, “Yes, I have cheated, out of immaturity, out of inexperience, out of taking advantage of certain temptations, out of callousness. You realise it now, when you grow up and you value it more why be in a relationship, why be committed to someone when you cannot be committed?”
After a painful breakup with Deepika, Ranbir and Katrina’s relationship started blossoming on the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahaani. It was commendable to see Ranbir, being a son to famous parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh Kapoor, admit his mistakes on a public platform. Both Deepika and Ranbir have moved on with their life. While Deepika got married to Ranveer Singh last year, Ranbir is currently dating Alia Bhatt and rumours say that they will tie the knot soon.
Talking about his equation with Deepika, Ranbir had earlier said, "The amount of love I have for Deepika is like family. It's very warm; it's about care, about being proud of her. The facet of love, care and respect has changed but changed for the better. It's not your immature 'I love her' kind of feeling. It's mature and that has come with age. Also, we have both positively moved on with our lives."
Well, even though both the actors are happy and settled in their life, Ranbir and Deepika will still be one of the most favourite on-scree jodi’s of Bollywood that the audience will love to watch together.
