I think we will eventually find out what childhood experiences she went through that ended up molding her this way. I don't necessarily think that she had a bad experience per se, but I felt that HS' analogy of mann ke gaanth referred to social conditioning she had when growing up. It is deep rooted and held firmly in place by nails that need to come out. It will hurt as they fall off but it will liberate her eventually. As an example, the other day she was telling HS that people were right to criticize them for getting married at this age when they were parents, because she would have felt the same if her own parents had done it.

HS has always told Babita not to transfer her fear to Minine because he didn't want her to be restricted by social conditioning either. Babita on some level knows that she needs to change but she has some mental blocks that she will learn to deal with and then be able to break free of those psychological bonds/

Its the others (Ashnoor included) who add the spice and above all Anirudh and Ashnoor who make me crave for more and more.

Absolutely...

HS /minni are real spice of the show ...otherwise it would be really boring

@padmajaan: I don't know about others but this is the first show I have watched of Paridhi, Aniruddh, and Ashnoor's. I was neither paridhi's fan, and have never watched Jodha Akbar, or I am neither any of the actors fans. I actually hate the whole celeb worshipping culture. You should always judge the character and not the actor for the roles they are portraying.

Though whatever you said is your opinion and you are entitled to it, I feel the character Babita is judged very harshly here, more than HS or Mini's character. Don't know why and I don't wanna get into it either tbh, but I don't agree that she only has few expressions. I think she's a very good actor. The divorce court scene, dheere chalna scene, all her scenes of her contemplating her feelings , etc. etc. was very well depicted by Paridhi. Aniruddh and Ashnoor are brilliant actors as well.

I also noticed Minnie's flaring temper and that's largely because of stress and frustration at things not going the way she expected, plus, as she said to NB her wish for things to work out the first time round without hassles or siyappa. She's tired of having to stand up and fight all the time.

I am so glad she got HS in her life so that he can help calm her down and see things from a different perspective.

Whether it was giving up on her preferred college and by proxy her dream of becoming a professional photographer, not sitting in the exams so that she can get Babes some comfy shoes (this one pissed me off a lot), or pawning off her scooter - Minnie has constantly been making sacrifices for her mother.

What's annoying me right now is that she doesn't need to be making sacrifices. As you had mentioned, they're doing financially well and can afford to buy some decent clothes, so why not go for it?

maybe she dint want clothrs only for the roka and chunri function. she did wear a new one last episode & maybe selected a good looking one as HS asked her to for the wedding

Exactly my thoughts.

It won't be something big dark terrifying. It will eventually come out in a way as we thought about imarti's track.. writers kept it simple and we expected something worse.

I think HS meant the restricted upbringing of babita .the thoughts that are instilled in her.yar those dialogues were ahhmazing ❤️

Strange Jean but when I read these lines, the first name that came to my mind was Babita whereas you were speaking about Lovely! It's the exact same thing Babita is doing and such people only do it with those they perceive as weaker than them. Babita feels that way about HS for sure and the weakness is his niceness and his love for her.

I know I am rubbing a lot of people the wrong way when I criticize Babita's character but I also fail to see what they find so exceptional about her. Is it because they are Paridhi fans? Well I never knew any of the actors before not having seen anything they did before and my observations are solely limited to the character Babita and not the actress portraying it.

The above disclaimer is not for you Jean.

And by the way even in the acting department I find Anirudh, Ashnoor, the lady playing naeem Bi, and for that matter even the actors essaying the roles of Micky and senior citizen Khurana better than Paridhi! This is my honest opinion. I am finding her stilted and I feel that she has very few expressions that she keeps repeating plus many tmes her dialogue delivery is very rushed and high strung and harsh.

Sorry if I have offended anyone. This is just my POV considering that I am seeing these actors for the first time ever!

When has Babita ever put HS down? Apart from the apology scene, of course. She has never taunted HS the way Lovely goes around taunting others.

All the other characters have something that makes them stand out. Naeem Bi has her gaaliyan and wisdom; Dadu, his crutch and sensibility; Khatri, his "otherwise mat lena" and hyena laugh; Mickey, his pranks and mischief etc. and these are all side characters.

Then we have HS who has a ton of unique identifiers. Minnie on the other hand, is loud in everything she does. Whether it's her dialogues, clothing, or hair styles - you never fail to notice her. But then there's Babes. There's a lot of simplicity to her and in some ways can be perceived as being plain and boring. But it's only when you get to know her that there's so much to her. Her creativity with home decor (she adorned one whole wall with dolls baked out of flour), her immense talent with cooking, ambition to strive further and higher and there's probably a lot more.

I feel like Babita as a character has been very held back. Previously, it might have been because her personal desires didn't align with what was expected of the daughter-in-law of the Khurana household. But with this marriage, I hope she's able to act out on simpler things in life like wearing the clothes of her own desire. Adorning herself with jewelry, emoting herself freely etc.

Well, I think this marriage will also help Babita see that it is doesn't have to be a relationship that clips your wings or stifles you, truly sets you free. As NB had explained previously, Babita needs someone who is grounded/remains on the ground, to whom she, as a kite, is connected by a string, one that is long and loose enough to enable her to soar but strong enough to prevent her from snapping off and floating away aimlessly.
