No Akki in BB 2

Yes, you read that right. Despite popular sentiment, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar will not be playing a cameo in the sequel to his Priyadarshan-directed 2007 psychological comedy drama Bhool Bhulaiyaa. This film, titled Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 that’s being directed by Anees Bazmee, is Kartik Aaryan’s alone.

Poor Kartik, as soon as the first look of the sequel was shared on social media last week, fans of Akshay began trolling him for daring to step into the Khiladi’s shoes. Their opinion was unanimous. No actor could match Akshay’s swag as the comic ghostbuster and Kartik was a bad choice by the sequel’s producers.

That was when rumours of Akshay having a role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 began doing the rounds possibly to quell the unrest over Kartik’s announcement as the lead in the film. With fans already writing off the Luka Chuppi actor and predicting disaster for the sequel, something needed to be done to put out the fires.

Director Anees himself was ambiguous when asked whether Akshay, with whom he made Welcome and Singh is Kinng, would be a part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. He neither said yes and nor did he say no. With a clever play of words, Anees kept fans and the media guessing. But PeepingMoon.com has confirmed information, Akshay Kumar will not be seen in the sequel.

I didn't like the motion poster of BB-2 to be honest. But it's too soon to judge. Akki did fab job in BB and I loved the movie but then BB worked because it had a good story and Vidya did a superb job along with rest of the actors. It was not because of only Akki.

I think people should give Kartik a chance atleast before calling the movie a flop beforehand.

Vidhya did a fab job no doubt but her part came in the end whereas AK held the movie throughout. Without his comic timing and comedy, the film wouldn't be what it is today. I dont doubt Kartik, hell do great but nothing compared to Akshay. Sad if AK is actually not part of BB2.

Akshay Kumar excels in comedy, wish he'd stop doing patriotic movies now.

I completely agree with you. And tbh Akki was the best thing about the first half of the movie. I watched BB because of him only. What I'm saying is movie worked because of good story and the rest of the actors too and not only because of Akki. The same way we should not write off BB2 without even watching the movie. We don't even know the rest of the cast and frankly it's just the poster which is out, abhi to trailer b nahi dekha and people have written off the movie already.
