For me it's simple if there is a problem, you din't liked something your partner did, he talked with you rudely or anything..... Then just let it out! Fight with one another (verbally) , Argue, even say vile things to each-other or whatever.... At one point of time either of the 2 will stop and will try to understand the other person's pov. You might not talk to each-other for few days but that will not taint your relationship, the patching up moment will make everything worth it. But all this, covering your partner's disappointments with gifts, dates etc.... Will slowly slowly turn the relationship toxic! These are not long-term things.
