Reading the article, I don't think what she said was bad to generate the trolling reaction (but I don't follow Sonam and the shit she spouts so, I have no idea if the trolling is based on something she said before).

Either way, her tweet is hypocritical. She loves to do the same herself. What an idiot ...

Yeah IIRC we were going to adopt Vande Mataram, but some people disagreed because it used the word "Durga." I like Vande Mataram a lot more, personally.

But the Bharato Bhagyo Bidhata poem was actually written directed to Ishwar/Bhagawan/Para Brahman as the dispenser of India's destiny. I didn't know that. I always thought it was in reference to the personification of India. Pretty interesting.

Did we hear this line as kids? Indian kids aren’t taught the second stanza, only the first stanza

But even that line, she didn’t quote correctly 😛

Bigger question is why was she trolled? There is nothing wrong about hoping for a difficult situation to pass away. On the contrary, spoke some rare sense. She has best friends from the other country and perhaps, doesn't want to get into words battle that could hurt them and her best friends have the same attitude towards her, probably. The attitude; I prefer completely. Better than the likes of Mahira, Hamza, PC etc for sure.
