I know that through words and actions he has claimed himself as being Minnie's dad but this will be the perfect time to follow through with it. If he truly considers himself of being her father then don't let her go away. Like you said, he needs to "stake his claim". And if Minnie & HS both want this, then Babes shouldn't interfere in this.

Ughh, it's so complicated because Minnie/HS' rishta is separate; Minnie/Babes' rishta is alag and then Hanita are separate. They all need to either unite as one front or make clear as to where they stand in and then stay in their own lanes.

This is why I love the direction the story is taking. That each pair has their own equation makes it interesting but also confusing. Sure, HS has said he was her father and it was in holy settings, but what about the legal angle? There is still something lacking there. If he had married Babita it would give it some concrete framework. Not that he has to marry her, either. If Hanita never happen then does it make him feel insecure about Minnie? Of course it does.

I know that Minnie and HS have accepted each other as father-daughter but something tells me that there will be challenges there as her loyalty is questioned and she is torn between her parents. The way she has been pampering him and being all kid-like, just enjoying being his little princess set off alarm bells in my head. She had told Babita that she would support her in fighting back or standing up for herself because of what HS said, which I completely understand and is in line with what I would expect her to do.

While Babita still thinks of herself as a tenant more than part of this family, Minnie no longer does. Financial transactions, i.e. paying rent are handled by her mother but for all intents and purposes she is just living in her father's house now, in her home. She knows she belongs with him.

Yes, she can be quite mature but to be in a family unit is something she has craved since she was a child. What happens between Hanita is not really in her control and it's possible this dream of hers never comes true. I know it will be painful for her and she will go through more trauma if the separation is indeed long and difficult. Leaving home with Babita will mean one thing in terms of her standing up for her mother's and her own pride as she had said, but it will also be very very tough for her because she won't see herself leaving as a tenant. She will be leaving her father, and the right to be his life day in, day out. Just when he was saying to her in the hospital that they would still have their strong bond of friendship if they moved out and he would be the 4 am type of friend, her heart was already breaking. They are not just friends anymore. This is not the same Minnie anymore who was adamant about leaving home with her Babes and rashly fighting with HS and throwing words like ehsaan and tenant on his face. They have gone way beyond that since.

After the way she got him to stop drinking and helped him deal with Imarti's memories, the way she hugged him yesterday... Oh boy! I don't know if I can see her crying and pining for a father's love again. She has shown remarkable growth and progress and I don't want her to have to be lonely in the coming days. Babita might adore her but she is not in the right headspace to provide Minnie what she needs right now, a carefree life as a college student. I have a feeling deep down Minnie is a bit insecure too that if Babita leaves and this "family unit" that she pictures breaks apart, she will feel at sea again.

I do! And it works on so many different levels. I don't know if I'm going to explain this properly but by adopting HS' language, she's adopting his roots, his family's heritage and their entire legacy. There is a whole history behind the language and where it came from. There are so many customs and traditions in HS' family, most likely from Haryana, that Minnie is unaware of but she'll learn over time. Them speaking one language also alludes to them being one voice. They're using words that they know will be understood by the other.

For example, when Minnie was reading the letter, she couldn't interpret everything that was written. She needed Babes to translate it into simple words so that the deeper meanings could be understood by everyone.

It depends entirely on the person. When HS called his FIL bapu, it came out so natural. But knowing how Minnie is, it will feel weird coming out of her mouth. Then again, we won't know for sure until it happens.

@bold, there you go! You explained exactly what I was thinking. Poor Minnie was also left disappointed and humiliated by Ashok, to the point where she got rid of his name. In a way, it stripped her of part of her identity. Yes, she took Babita's name but still has this void.

Hence my wish to see her calling him bapu. I don't know if she will ever change her surname, not that she needs to. But if Hanita don't marry, that would be difficult.

Watched the episode. In some parts it was amazing and hilarious and in others thoda peekha sa.

Dunno who that woman is and how she's gonna figure into Babes' life but I hope it's something positive.

Minnie's wish of wanting some happiness after all that rona dhona is echoed by all of us. Please hamari baat sun lena Babita. 🙏🏼
