Season2 Bajaj need not be a villain this time.

How much ever i am trying to picturise Bajaj as a villain, my gut feeling says that he is here to teach some lessons to the Basus and Prerna.

The Basus, especially Mohini & Nivi - These two have always be the one screaming out loud and repetitively on how Prerna is a middle class girl. Though they both changed for a short time, now they are back to their original beings. Maybe that is why, it was a whistle-blowing scene to see Bajaj giving it back in a sassy manner to Nivi. KSG has really nailed this scene to perfection and i am eagerly waiting to see more tashan between them, which will lead to a realisation of the Basus of whom the real Prerna is. And that day they will realise what Bajaj understood about Prerna in the first go that 'There is nothing like a shubh muhrat; the moment Prerna comes in one's life is the shubh muhrat'.

Anurag Basu - In one of the opening episodes, it was seen Anu saying to his mother that he doesn't want to be known as Moloy Basu's son; instead he wanted to have his own identity and stand on his own feet. But, ever since Pre came to his life, it was only saving her, loving her etc etc. He couldn't even save his Baba's business from Komo and Bajaj. So, i feel that after the Swiss track, it will be shown on how Anurag the soft boy grows into a matured man who will rebuild the Basu empire after they loose the Swiss project.

Prerna Sharma - She has always been that impulsive girl who never thinks before she says or does something. She never goes into the depth of a matter before reaching a conclusion. And it is these traits of her that has always led her to much bigger problems. And I can see Bajaj has already started his work to show her the mirror. Many of us may be remembering how after the introduction of Mishka in Anurag's life, Pre started accusing Anu of playing with her feelings and at the end insulted him as someone who was behind her body. I am not pointing fingers at her, because any normal person backed by Shivi's words that Anu loves her would get heart-broken seeing Mishka back, and that too when Pre was about to confess her love to Anu. But what was not acceptable was she insulting Anu which was an impulsive action. Anu himself was confused and had not yet realised his feelings for her. And evenif his subconscious mind had realised it, his brain would have been resisting it as he was always not interested in Thornbird story. In such a situation how could he understand why Pre was behaving weirdly and he got hurt & left the room. And now that a similar track being played with Bajaj, we saw how Bajaj is showing Pre the mirror that not always what she thinks or says should be right. And with the dialog of him being able to get better options for a lesser price, it was like a tit for tat for what Pre said to Anu. Yes, this tough Bajaj is surely going to change this impulsive and emotional girl into a matured & sensible woman.

And the credit for making this long post for Bajaj solely goes to KSG. I am not his fan and except for few episodes of QH, i have never watched his shows. Even in QH, i didn't find anything exceptional in his acting. So, when news came out that KSG will be the next Bajaj, i had less expectations. And tbh, just like some of his own fans felt that Bajaj is not his cup of tea, i too felt the same, especially because of his dialogue delivery. But then i thought of how perfectly had EK had selected all the KZK casts and hence felt that she will not go wrong in choosing KSG and that too with a high budget. And i took a deliberate effort to understand his dialogs, after which i could never think of anyone else as Mr.Bajaj. That is how convincingly KSG is living the character of Mr. Bajaj. And that is how you should value the effort and hardwork put up by the actors, irrespective of whether they are your favorite or not.

I feel elated when someone says this. I am such a crazy KSG fan that it is next to impossible for me to judge his acting very neutrally. At some point during the wedding track I felt they were ruining Bajaj and I couldn't stand it. But they haven't yet. So when anyone who's not a KSG fan says they are loving Bajaj, I feel too happy for life. Coz I have loved him since day one. Now I love him even more coz his dialogues - yeah I agree, the delivery had some issues in the beginning but now they are brilliant. I was so crazy about KSG coming back, never once did I think anything other than that. But now I genuinely can't imagine anyone else portraying him. And yeah, EK generally doesn't go wrong with her casting.

Even I am not a hardcore KSG fan but I love Bajaj's character here, his dialogues, his body language. In all OTT, he brings a little subtlety, especially with dialogues that he has gotten so far & he is doing justice to what this character demands. I am watching this show right now only because of this character.

You are right about how Bajaj will make Prerna a sensible & mature woman who will grow on to not be impulsive all the time & bring stability to herself.

Never saw Season 1 but had heard of Bajaj as a grey character. I have watched KSG in QH & I found him good there, especially with intensity of Asad Ahmed Khan. My username "asya" reflects his last show's pairing which I loved in the beginning.

Grace as usual your writing is beautiful and unbiased.

Bajaj as a character seems to be mysterious, has a back story and seems someone essential in this juncture in the story of Anurag and Prerna by which they grow and learn and maybe strengthen their love further.

We may not agree with the way he has been introduced or the hurried marriage track but he does bring a new nuance in the story and the actor playing it is doing a great job.

The makers may have sloppy story telling but they have definitely a bunch of very talented actors.

P.S I had to come out of my hibernation for this post great going

I used to dislike KSG offscreen for the longest time, and have only watched his previous shows in bits and parts. Kzk also is a show I follow on and off. When I heard ksg is doing bajaj, who was one of my fav in the 1st season, i was curious. I have to say he won me over with his potrayel, he makes me want to see more of him. I hope they have a really good chara arc for him, where he can show his acting range. Otherwise he would be wasted on this show.

One thing I wanted to specially mention is his tremendous screen presence. He has some aura which pulls your eyes to him even if he's just standing. Very commanding presence.

When everyone’s ‘talking and bragging out class, stature, society, traditions and values Bajaj is showing how it’s done.

Whether that’s showing his trust in Prerna not questioning her whereabouts when she’s missing.

Rising above old superstition

Or accepting a unborn child.

I don’t see anyone else being as bold and meaningful in prenas life than he is.

He’s what she needs whether she or anyone realises it or not.

Her weak spots are complemented by him unlike Anurag who just was a sponge to his mother.

No he doesn't need to be a villain but he is presented as such RIGHT NOW. Bajaj is growing on me to be honest but I would still consider him to be a villain. I think the reason it's difficult for people to call him a villain is because we'd been presented with clearly malicious villains like Komo and Naveen. But now we just have someone who is a bit more calculated and a bit more interesting instead of a creepy old man who wanted to marry a young (naive) girl in exchange of keeping her loved ones safe... oh wait. I didn't even mean to do that but it just happened lmao.

Keeping that ugly truth aside, I do hope this makes Prerna just be better. I have a soft spot for Prerna, I always have. I don't want Bajaj to be the reason she learns to be self-sufficient. I want it to be an individual journey instead. God knows she needs a reality check. "My body and soul belongs to Anurag", miss me with bullshit pleaseee! When will I get the character development I deserve??? Even Nivedita got hers already. Writers shouldn't only take negative characters and teach them lessons and them them good/positive and call it a day. Characters like Anurag and Prerna should also grow and make better decisions and learn from their mistakes and further develop instead of being self-sacrificial all the time. The kasautis in their life should teach them what decision they should make, instead of making the same decision and expecting different results????? This is the third time they've made the same decision for the same problem and what did these two expect will be the outcome? Lifelong happiness? But, I digress.

I really am starting to like Bajaj. As long as he's the stepping stone to bring Anurag and Prerna together, I'm here for it. He's a fine character but the show should maintain what they promised us, an eternal love story between Anurag and Prerna.
