If true, then it's scary.... Cause aaj team pick nahi kiya but future me Guruji can tell her that the team wasn't right isiliye world cup haar Gaye... Players ki kundali match nahi ho rahi thi
Why is Virat so powerful when stronger players like Tendulkar and Dhoni weren't. Is he more talented then them ??
He is the captain and in cahoots with the head coach. Dhoni in his prime was super powerful (he still is to some extent) so was Sachin. Woh toh aaj bhi politics karta hain wrt team decisions despite retiring 5 years ago. So Virat being all powerful is not a far off thing.

Virat and Shastri took Kumble out so easily. BCCI dances to their tunes just like they did with Dhoni.

Some ppl say becoz of ravi shashtri.
In his hey days dhoni was also powerful and removed a lot of players he didn't like.
No. Ravi Shastri himself was a pick of Virat (ie indirect backing). Anil Kumble had to resign because he had differences with Virat.
But then, captains asking for more powers to sack coaches/players is not new. Dhoni removed players. Ganguly’s clash with coach Gregg Chapel was well known. Tendulkar was not getting involved in most of these. He resigned from captaincy much earlier in age and most of his career, played under someone else’s captaincy.

Greg chapel episode was horrible. Nobody liked him.
Tendli is good. So was ganguly. Problematic started from dhoni. Even before ganguli retired.
Ambati rayadu ke saath bhi to thik nahi hua. Now who is behind all this. A nexus.

Oh, is it ?? Didn't know this... That's sad... Was he unfair towards some really talented player too ?

Woah, Tendulkar too.... ??? I thought he was the most straightforward player, only dedicated towards the game..

Bina politics khele koi itna bada superstar nahi banta. Regional lobbies have always been super strong in sports. Cricket more so. And tendulkar toh have a vested interest of getting in his son into the team so to facilitate that he needs to have a tight grip on the people who can make it happen so he is always hovering around like a ghost behind the scenes to safeguard his interests.
For all the discussion, Let me just say..
Dhoni's captaincy was best.
And Sachin resigned as he couldn't handle pressure and politics of Captaincy.

Sachin is/was known as a proper lobbyist. He would lobby for Mumbai players more and friends. Sachin wanted to captain but couldn't handle how it affected his game. He knew he could pull strings behind the scenes anyway and BCCI wouldn't dream of ever dropping him. My own uncle was an associate CAB member for years and it is a pretty known fact amongst cricket boards. Bombay and Delhi boards hold the most lobbying power.Sachin and Sourav were loggerheads about many selection decisions too.
