Okay, so the reason, I started watching the show was cause I really saw the potential in the story. It was interesting and maybe, if this concept was on some medium other than ITV, like as web series or something, it probably could have been formed into a beautiful and deep love story or just simply a good story to actually learn something from.

But it being ITV, no matter how fresh and promising a concept they try to bring in the beginning, they have the tendency to go back to their same old ways whose foundation, probably Ekta Kapoor laid. Now, I wasn't expecting something great of course but just something decent and watchable. And, 'basic' logic is of the prime requirement for that, I believe.

Now, sticking to this show and ignoring many other loopholes; the recent track where AJ snatches the MS from Guddan's neck, what really happened there? Maybe I missed something or I don't know, but here, he was teaching her how to make that cake and then probably, Durga just tells him about the conversation of Guddan and Rawat and then, cut to next frame, he just snatches her MS from her neck! Like, he just believed Durga and didn't even bother to confront and ask Guddan about it? It could have been some misunderstanding. He was behaving like, he had caught Guddan cheating on him with someone, after they had fallen and confessed their love.
And then, 'after snatching the MS', when he does ask to answer in a yes or no, he doesn't want to hear anything else? And the way he says, you don't deserve this MS! Does he think, it's a privilege for someone to be wearing a MS of his name? His attitude around Guddan is always like, he's doing her some favor. He does think highly of himself and I sense narcissism in him. I know, all ITV male leads suffer from ego issues but, AJ is plain narcissistic. Although, he's improved much, his character in the beginning episodes completely gave the narcissistic disorder vibes.

Aj is a narcissistic person?????Yes, He is!! I actually can't recall b4 marriage, bt after marriage i just like to say abt 1 incident(though i don't remember exactly right nw); their reception party, Guddan was just having fun & by mistake Aj's blazer got damaged by her & though Aj didn't say anything, he had made mountain out of a molehill @ that moment!!
He wasn't rude & dumb like mostly all typical shows bt nw even he has turned into it too!!

Anyway, Rawat blackmailed Guddan with her father, no? So, she didn't have any option. She not for once, believed Rawat. None of this was her fault. She couldn't tell him about Rawat, because he definitely wouldn't have believed her and when she tried, he fell asleep. Can't she just tell him all of that? Or just one line that, Rawat blackmailed her, that's why she came back in the house rather than feeling guilty and apologizing to him.
She was doing all drama bt nt once she had time to say simple 2 sentences😆 maybe cv wants to stretch it...bt it doesn't make any sense!!

I understand, one can't sit and analyse and reason everything while watching ITV but I think as audience, investing our time, we deserve basic logic, otherwise, it just all feels like a different/alternate world (to me, at least). I believe, audience needs to be respected this much at least and not taken for granted, that they'll just watch anything without questioning. So, it does feel disappointing.

Now, my main aim of this post was to try and understand how ITV works. I'm not really complaining. I understand, they make what sells. If they're getting good TRPs without logic, why make efforts to think and go through all the pain required to produce good content. Plus, Indian TV series are not finite or fixed. So, one can't really expect quality in a daily running show which isn't finite.

But, what's the need of this unnecessary idiotic family drama? And this, mera mangalsutra, mera suhag nonsense? I thought, Guddan was supposed to be this free spirited 20 year old girl with no care in the world. Why is she suddenly so much attached and concerned about a MS? Actually, she was concerned about it during the house theft too. But, why? What meaning does it hold for her?

I hv said so many times that cv should keep her like what her age is nt someone like 30+ ms, saas, meri bahuie 😆 i always find it weird whenever guddan emphasis on bahuie & saas word!! yaar she is youngest so obviously it's nt normal!!

And infact, exactly when, did she get so attached to this family, a family in which except Dadi, no one really cares for her or most importantly, makes her feel loved and wanted. Why she wants to stay in this family when she can just go back to her own house, her family whom she loved the most. At least, in her house, there are 2 people who love her the most in the world for who she is, respect her and trust her. I mean, doesn't make sense. The thing is, they never even once showed Rawat being the reason for her to continue to stay. She just wanted to stay out of her own will cause she just grew fond and so attached to the new 'family' in just a few days. She's never even being shown missing her old life. It can't happen in real life at all, forget with a 20/21 year old girl like her.
Well said!!👏 Noone except dadi loves her or respects her in this family, Hubby even isn't comfortable to addreess her as his wife in public bt guddan...mera pati...& i'm proud of it!!😒 I can't get why she isn't leaving jindal bhavan?????She gives lecture on love bt in their relation there is no love...leave love nt even trust...she just gets insults frequently bt 🥱 , Actually we had debated on this topic a lot & u know what suprisingly rarely 3-4 fans were agree with self-respect others were like guddan is right bcoz she is married, she loves er hubby, She isn't leaving bcoz aj takes stand 4 her against bahus & ...etc. so no doubt cv is showing it!!

So, this isn't justified because I don't think, target audience of this show was specifically housewives who can relate to the mera mangalsutra, mera pati drama. Infact, I'm sure, not even they can relate(majority), it's just unrealistic. Except the fact, that Guddan is a 20 year old becoming a saas, I don't think, the concept would appeal or be realistic to the housewives about whom I don't know why, ITV thinks, that they love all this idiotic, unrealistic mera MS, mera suhag drama. Emotional family drama? Maybe. But, how can 'anybody' relate to the, mangalsutra, sindoor drama in real life? I can be sure about the fact, that even if they eliminate this unnecessary focus on mangalsutra, sindoor and likes, they'll not lose any audience (might end up gaining some tho). So, this I don't understand that why so much unnecessary focus is being given on showing the FL as 'homely' in every show even when your major audience is probably young and won't be much interested in that.

Television does has the strength to influence masses, one needs to be a bit careful and thoughtful while projecting the characters and the story.

Phew, it was long! Thanks everyone who went through it all.

Although technically, now people do have to buy subscription for channels, so, if they bought a subscription to a pack of channels for a TV show/shows as the show/shows looked promising but later on, got diverted from the track and didn't show anything of what was promised, it is kind of cheating.
Nobody promised a love story, this is a story about Guddan that is young girl and has a lot of obligations after the wedding. While I understand what you're saying is often displayed in a series of things, which are not promised in the promo series. Now here in the forum is young people who have a different perspective. For example, the average housewife sitting at home, she is not interested Guddan and her self-esteem, she is interested in all that drama, Guddan and her life is worse than her at home, but when she watch the episode then she can say POOR GUDDAN. Such persons are viewers who pay and who watches on TV, Guddan team count on such people for the rating.
But that's not the point and I wasn't talking with respect to GTNHP, just generally. The point is, what they show, it more or less does influence the masses in some ways.
I agree should pay attention to the things shown on TV all working days at 8am.
When I just started to watch Hindi series I was surprised how much actress spend the time on crying. I was like there is nothing from crying, tears contours, get up and go live your life. Now more came to me like a normal thing in the Hindi series.
I'm going to give you one example of how the different state, are different series.
In my country all at the open in drama, they showing wor, they showing running drugs, they show sex, they show everything.
In the Hindi series is reduced, I do not know how to explain it.
For a series that were filmed in my country, sex is shown in the first episode, after that, it's a scam, then harassment, then divorce, then she left him and went to live your life.. Usually such a story.
But that does not mean that people around me do all these things.
This is a series which means that it is not the real situation.

About GTNHP, If I bothered to write such a long post about a single show, it means, I still think, it has potential, but as you talked about, there are many loopholes and lack of logic.
Of course, Guddan is the most realistic series to be shown on TV.
For me there's more there are some things that do not really logic, but it is the most realistic.

Initially, I ignored AJ's character. I didn't mind it. I liked some parts of it, I still do. But, now eventually, some major flaws in his character cannot be ignored. Yes, he indeed blackmailed Guddan to marry him, even if, he did let her go after she ran away, but initially, he did blackmail a 20 year old girl, whose half his age into marrying him in exchange of saving her sister from 'one of his family members', when he should have just like any decent man, taught Perv a lesson and saved her sister from his relative without any condition.
He blackmailed her, and he did not told her the whole truth.
Now that Guddan not told her the truth, he's crazy, she broke his trust, does not want to her to talk more. LOL When he does it for the sake of the family, and her sister, and when she does, then she broke his trust. This is called a two-faced person.
See Guddan it's all forgiven and reconciled with fate. He was her husband and that's it. And I am like 🤬 Guddan.
And yes, he's worked hard to reach where he is today but that doesn't mean, he can act entitled all the time and expect everybody to succumb to his wants, his way of life and his rules.
And he is the head of the family he is said to listen without any words.
I'm here in the neighborhood we have a similar situation, where everyone listens to one person, their wishes are not essential.

Many people face unfortunate events in their life, but that's not a justification to behave as you want. Even after 15 years of his late wife's death, he's so immersed in his own grief that he's almost unbothered about other's wishes and desires(eg: his sons and DILs).
So people go at a much greater tragedy and do not behave like that.
The more complicated character in the series, the better.
People like complicated things.

Also, the snatching of MS wasn't cool. It can be considered an almost physical assault. Honestly, a ruthless, egoistic and an angry young type of a man might look good and feel romantic on screen or in novels, but it's hard to be with one in real practical life (for me, at least).
Look, I have that same problem. AJ look so good no screen but in real life is bad very bad. I would not be in that house for a second. Maybe it's because in my private life has no quarrel, but when I see what AJ doing Guddan looks terrible for me.
Having said that, there are obviously some shades of his character, I like. And, those shades and parts of his character have and are been discussed on this forum numerous times. But every action and behavior of someone can't be always justified by saying, "he's got a good heart".
Rght here I tried to explain it, but I gave up halfway. So. Is not about AJ but is similar situation.
About Guddan, I find her character inconsistent and many a times unexplainable as you talked about.
Guddan is that at one time it is so serious, the next is so crazy.

Not a viewer of this show but came across your post TM. The problem with Indian shows is that they air daily. It puts too much pressure on the writers to deliver quality stuff so they just end up repeating the tried and tested formulas coz they don’t get enough time to flesh out the screenplay and characters. The initial episodes of all shows are good but after some time, the quality begins to dilute and if the show manages to continue after 1 year, the CVs introduce senseless tracks into the story. Indian tv shows are not finite either which makes it even more annoying coz a show which keeps going on and on loses its charm.

80s/90s Indian tv shows were much better coz they were finite and only used to telecast once a week which enabled writers to produce better quality content. Plus there was no pressure for TRP so CVs were not forced to compromise with the story.

High time Indian tv comes up with finite shows instead of just launching crap for the sake of money. Since I don’t see them going back to weekly format anytime soon in the future, it’s better they put a restriction on the number of episodes a tv show can have. I think every show should have a 150 episode limit.
