7pm time slot should not be a problem for ebss - Reasons - Page 2

Revenge shows generally get prime time slots and audience is different. Who wants to start their daily dose of entertainment with a smirking face, lol. But time slot is not the only variable here, shoddy writing has played a huge role. Didn't develop any of the character well, not even the main leads, do we still need to ask more?

To be very honest qualities of shows were never great, but yes, there were many exceptions. It is all about what tha audience find entertaining, not the content of it.

Normally WC matches also have breaks between 7-7.30 if full overs are played, so they've a edge over other shows till WC lasts.

Time is never a concern, content is.

EBSS recently turned an online TRP topper. So things are slowly and steadily falling in place I guess.

Other shows have even sloppier writing with zero character graphs yet are doing wonders. This show is still doing well, very well in that category. It just depends on what clicks with people and what doesn't. TRP is anyways not a measure of a show's quality.

Maybe the lack of a proper romantic track between popular faces caused the harm.

I think the trp format has changed over the years because none of the rival shows are doing well either. EBSS was different , trp audience is acquainted with the sanskari bahu concept whereas janhvi was grey , the youth gen cannot watch shows telecasted at 7pm but they have given their verdict through online trps which is satisfactory.

But EBSS could do better , it did fetch 1.3 (?) trp in the first week/day.

The writing was not it tbh , they rushed with every plot especially kabir kavya vyom plot ( even though I am enjoying kabir kavya scenes rn and I would really want kavya back in the show ) and ofcourse ! janhvi-manohar's plot made no sense towards the end.

Time slot is a problem but it's not the only one.

With this revamp, the TRPs can improve. But I doubt romance will work in 7 to 8 pm slot. Romance is generally watched by young viewers, who are most probably, not able to watch the show at that time. I think family shows can do well in these two slots. But EBSS proved that wrong. So let's see if romance works here, this time.

EBSS is not entirely family drama. It is revenge drama disguised as family drama. It's main focus is on revenge not family.

IPK2 was also a romantic show. But it did pretty well at 6 p.m. So execution is important whatever genre it is.

Not just execution, it depends on people's understanding and their likes. The serial stayed to its true nature and focused more on revenge but family audience didn't like to watch a bahu taking revenge against family.

Saathiya is what people like to watch. Not that it is some great show. I will give more points for Brahm for trying something different. To get more points it shud have to add more family scenes and elements. But then it won't be a good revenge drama.

TRP shows are also those who follow typical cliches and be so simplistic to be even understandable to a toddler. That is y ppl watch them bcos it is so easy to focus on them. Watch kasauti.
