Chapter 5 :

The diversity of colors, food, the rituals and the hustle bustle at an Indian wedding are unimaginable without the diversity of its attendees. Cackling relatives, anxious parents, mischievous young and pretty, aimless awkward loners, gossiping aunts, bored kids, it was as usual busy morning for Agarwals from past few days keeping them on toes .

For Naina it was a fresh and cheerful morning. "Yesss finally I will be confessing my love " she murmured and started looking for Sameer. It was her wish to enjoy the Sangeet and Marriage function with him as his girlfriend.

"Bahut hi ache ghar se hamare Naina ke liye rishta aaya hai , aaj ladka Naina ko dekhne aa raha hai " Chachaji announced happily, listening to this she went into a shock for few minutes.The rest of the relatives were happy and kept asking questions to Chachaji about the groom and congratulating Naina "Badi khush naseeb hai " was what she heard.

Not knowing what to do next she kept searching for Sameer with panic and tears in her eyes but couldn't see him anywhere .

"Preeti tune Sameer ko dekha kya ? "

"Haan Papa ne usko kuch kaam se thoi der pehle hi kahi beja hai ". Preeti responded .

"Naina, Bhagwan jhooth na bulaye tu ab jaldi se parlour wali se thoda facial aur makeup karva lena. Maine phone kar diya hai aati hogi , Damadji dekhne aa rahein na sham mein ??"

"Dhamadji ??? Abhi maine haan nahi kahi hai " Naina replied angrily

"Haan Ek baar dekh le baad mein to haan hi hogi, itna accha ladka hai , khadani hai, sundar hai aur bahut samajdhar bhi "

"Yeh qualifications kahan se mili hogi inko ?" Preeti taught skeptically .

Just then Preeti's mobile rang and after a brief talk she hugged Naina.

"Jijaji ka phone tha , aaj sham ke liye tere liye dress bhej rahein hai aur saath mein accessories bhi "

"Preeti!!! Jijaji?? tu bhi shuru ho gayi . Aur mai kyun pehno unke diye huve kapde ?? "

"Hayee Unkeeee diye huveee " she stretched a bit and teased her.

"Preeti mazak mat kar , ek to Sameer nahi dikh raha hai aur tu upar se tang kar rahi hai. Pata nahi kaun hai yeh banda"

"Mai abhi jake Chachaji se kehti houn " , Preeti stopped her "Itne log hai aisa mat kar, ek baar mil le, na pasand aaye to bol dena papa ko "

Mai to sham mein saaf saaf keh doungi " Dekhiye Mr. na mai aapko pasand karti houn aur na hi mujhe aapse shaadi karni hai" she declared her resolution.

A well packed parcel was brought in the Aggarwal house which had the grape wine lehenga for the evening ,diamond jewellery with matching bangles ,sandals and a clutch to go with it.

"Bhagwan jhooth na bulaye hamare Naina ke bhagya khul gayein, bas Naina ko Delhi mein dekhkar pasand bhi kar liya aur ab yeh sab bhej rahein hai , lagta hai aaj hi sagayi karne ka irada hai" Chachiji said admiring the gift.

" Jijaji ki taste bahut accha hai . hona bhi chahiye tujhe jo pasand kiya hai". Preeti hit Naina with elbow pulling her leg.

Naina was in no mood and was just getting more worried what if everything gets fixed without her consent. " If she had not liked Sameer then she might have been happy with this proposal. After all who would be taking care of such minute details ,ensuring she looks eternal in every way "

" Chal behen jaldi se tujhe ready karti houn, khas karke Jijaji ne kaha hai aur baal khule rakhne bolein hai. ' saying this she pulled Naina into the room. Preeti along with the parlor lady were set to get her ready for the evening.

"Kaun hai yeh jo itna specific sab bol raha hai" she fussed but with lot of pestering from others she agreed to do what was told.

The grape wine color contrasted with her fair complexion, diamond set added elegance to her beauty. The bangles , sandals along with a clutch added beauty to the the entire outfit .

" Beta ladka khas karke tujhse baat karna chahata hai, teri marzi puchna hai. Tum Sangeet Hall mein thodi der pehle chale jana, driver tumhe chod dega" her Chachaji instructed placing his hand on her head.

Naina let a sigh of relief now she could talk to whosoever the guy was and let him know her opinion. There was no sign of Sameer . "Pata nahi aaj hi isko gayab hona tha, Please Please Sameer jaldi se aa jao .she prayed.

As she entered the hall she saw someone standing at the center of the hall dressed in blue shirt, black blazer and jeans. A soft music was playing in the background. A dim blue light followed her as she walked slowly on a passage filled with rose petals. The entire scene was like a romantic dream come true for Naina.

Sameer was gazing at her without blinking. She looked like a princess . His heart said " Meri Pari"

" Sameer tum !!! Yahan kaise ?. Subah se kahan the . Mujhe tumse zarrori baat karni hai. 10 minute baad milo mujhse " she spoke as if she got her life back as soon as she saw him.

"Abhi tum jao mai us ladke ko keh deti houn mujhe shaadi nahi karni hai aapse aur koi aur dhund lijiye. 10 min mein miloungi tumko.

" Toh kehdo na" ? closely the gap he whispered making the butterflies in her stomach go crazy.

" Tumhe nahi Us ko kehna hai jo mujhe dekhne aana wala hai abhi" Naina repeated.

" Wahi toh ! Bolo jo bolna hai". He held her hand and made her sit on a chair and sat next to her holding her hand.

With a Puzzled look Naina said " Matlab tum woh ,woh matlab tum"

" Haan mai wahi houn" Sameer confirmed.

" Par yeh sab huva kaise" Naina still not accepting the reality asked him.

" Kal raaat woh game khelne ke baad ,mai Chachaji se mila " and narrated the discussion he had with her Chachaji.

FlashBack

" Chachaji mujhe aapse akele mein baat karni hai"

"Haan bolo Sameer"

"Normal cases mein yeh baat bade karte hai, par mai khud kar raha houn. Aap please meri puri baat suniya phir apna faisal di jiye " he requested .

"Aisi kya baat karni hai kaho " Chachaji said with a great concern.

"Aap Jayprakash Maheswari ka jante honge "

Chachaji interupted in between and said "Unhe kaun nahi janta ! , Sab log unhe bahut mante the woh bade hi acche insaan the. " He praised Nanu's efforts in making the society better. How he had built schools and other things that helped the needy. He was a well respected person in Ahmedabad.

"Mai unka Nati houn. Mai Naina se bahut pyar karta houn aur yeh baat mai aapko sabse pehle batayi hai, Naina ko bhi nahi pata ab tak. Woh aapko bahut manti hai aur aaj tak usne aisa koi kaam nahi kiya jis mein aapki marzi na ho. Isliye mai aapse uska haath maangna chahata houn ". He gave a background about his family , along with his academic excellence and his future plans. Sameer knew very well any father would want his daughter's future to be secured. He ensured that he put all those across in a very convincing manner and with full sincerity.

"Mummy aa jayengi kal , bas aap Naina ko apna aashirwad samaj ke mujhe de dijiye " . Chachaji had interacted with him closely in the past few days and had really liked his nature. The sincerity with which he admitted his flaws, the confidence of building his own future and most importantly the love and respect he held for Naina , Chachaji could not deny but he said he will consult with others in the house and let him know. After lot of discussions among the elders they finally agreed "

Flashback ends

"Mujhe kyun nahi kahan tumne pehle?? " Naina asked with a slight anger in her tone , everyone knew except her.

"Naina meri yeh icha thi ki jab mai tumhe propose karun tum bina koi jijak , bina koi darr ke mera pyar accept karo poore mann se. Maine dekha hai tumhari aakhoun mein woh darr agar tumhe family or pyar mein ek ko choose karna padta " he said with all the love and squeezing her hand a bit to assure her.

"Tumhe kab pata chala tum mujse pyar karte ho ? Tumhe to pyar par yakin nahi tha " Naina further questioned him.

" Us din Aashiqui 2 ke baad pata nahi tumhe dekhte hi dil zor se zor se dhadak tha , you were always in my thoughts ", smiling a bit " You know I did a google search to confirm if these are love symptoms ,par mai kitna galat tha pata hai Naina mera dil tumhe usse bahut pehle apna bana chuka tha. Khushi to hum sabke saath share karte hai , dard sirf apnoun ke saath. Maine apna dard sirf aur sirf tumse share kiya hai. I had fallen for you then and there"

Naina had happy tears and smiled when he mentioned about his google search on love symptoms.

He further went on "I had also planned the Kal ho na ho tips, 6 din ladki in, which I regret. A girls heart and love is not a game to be played. With you I got to see new perspective of life , you are a friend a guide and now you have shown me the true meaning of a family. Tayiji , Tauji , Pitaji jaise thike , Chachaji aur Chachiji jaise meethe , Preeti jaisi khati meeti aise sab rishtoun se tum bandi ho. There are differences among each other par jab Pooja didi ke sasural ke samne sab ek hokar saath detein hai tab parivaar ek lagta hai. I got to know no family is perfect and it needs a lot of effort to mend and keep the relations intact. Thank you Naina for making me realize all this and most importantly You taught me to Love , Love unconditionally. "

She further argued what would have happened if his family didn't agree. He smiled and told her "DDLG dekhi main , King of Romance SRK se sikha hai family pattana "

" Par usmein to Kajol ko propose karke phir family ko agree karvata hai na " still angry that he hadn't said to her first.

"Wahi galat kiya na Shahrukh ne , Kajol bechari kitni pareshan thi poora time , Mai apni Naina ko kaise pareshan dekh sakta. Shahrukh ne pehle Amrish puri ko patta lena tha , Waise Naina tumhare Pitaji Amrish puri se kam nahi " she hit him on his arm playfully hearing this.

"Agar ab mai manna kar doun to " ? Naina asked.

"Tumhare Naina bahut boltein hai, un mein saaf dikh tha hai mere liye Pyar . Kal tumne Aate Jate ganna gaa ke tumne mujhe ishara diya tha aur yeh haath ki mehendi mein jo tumne chupke se "S" likha hai dekha hai maine, pointing to it he caressed the palm. Agar abhi bhi kahogi Pyar nahi to mai koshish karunga aur itna pyar karunga ki tumhe pyar ho jayein , but I will never force you to love me. And if you love someone else I will let you go but for me you are my first and last love "

Kneeling in front of her holding her hand " Mai tumhe hamesha khush rakhunga yeh vaada nahi karunga par jab bhi aakhoun mein yeh aaso aayenge I will be the first one to wipe it. Tumhe har Khushi dene ki koshish zaroor karunga. Tumhare saath hasna , roona aur khoob saara jagadna chahata houn. Tumhe jee bharke pyar karna chahata houn . Tumhara dost banke , saathi banke yeh zindagi ka safar guzarna chahata houn. I want to grow old with you Naina. I love you Naina . Will you Marry me ?

She could not say anything just nodded her head with tears flowing down her cheeks and with a smile on her lips." I Love You Sameer , Love you very very much " is what she could manage to tell. He clung to her as if a small kid got his favorite toy and twirled her.

While in background played the song from the movie that triggered everything

"Pata nahi tha tum itne romantic ho ! " Naina teased Sameer after he put her down.

" Abhi 6 months ka courtship period hai yeh rang bhi dekh lena." he chuckled.

Breaking a piece of chocolate, he fed her half and the other he ate.

" Jhootha khane se pyar badhta hai " both said this together and laughed.

His gaze wandered over her lips, as her eyes met his she asked " Aise kya dekh rahe ho?? "

"Shaadi ke baad tumhe mai sirf hothoun se chocolate khilounga " he said wiping the chocolate traces on her lips by his thumb . His husky voice sent shivers through her body.

Munna , Pandit and Preeti who were witnessing all this from far jumped excitedly and ran towards them.

Later the families of Naina and Sameer joined for their engagement along with Pooja didi's Sangeet. Naina thanked God for fulfilling her wish better than she had asked. Sameer was not her boyfriend but her Fiance. She made a promise to herself to mend all his broken relationships and heel the wound.

Love is not about loving only the person but loving and accepting all the relationships attached to the person you love.
