this film just proves that india won't be anything unless everyone puts aside the whole star worship/favoritism etc aside (I mean to rejoice this film's "big opening" is like saying f you to women, specially to Indian women, where it's just been a hell and still is) and see the actual problems. The fact that this film opens big or even has any viewers should tell the story.. or it could be used as an ice-breaker to atleast start the debate.. I mean India, you have a problem, and it's worse than you thought.

I am not commenting on his acting. He must have worked hard. My point was some people have tendency to go over board with portrayal of gloom, tragedy, distress, disappointment by means of alcohol, drugs, violence which doesn't mean it's good acting. It's just an avenue to express the feeling. The portrayal of pain through expressions, voice, dialogue delivery is good acting.

Kabir Singh collected a huge 20 crore nett apprx on day with excellent numbers across the board. It is the third highest opening day of the year after Bharat and Kesari but both those films were on holidays or part holidays. Kabir Singh also had normal ticket pricing compared to other films which means its footfalls on day one are higher than the likes of Kesari, Simmba or Kalank.

The film has put up strong numbers all over with Mumbai doing around 6 crore nett and Delhi / UP around 4 crore nett. It is basically double the collections of the highest solo Shahid Kapoor non holiday opener which was R... Rajkumar. The first day business alone ensures the film is going to be a huge success and time will tell where the film eventually goes.

There is a world cup cricket match involving India on Saturday but it is not high profile and it remains to be seen if it affects the film. It will be a minimal affect if there is any. The growth can also be limited as the film did strong occupancy on day one and the growth can only really come in the metros as A and B centers have recorded big numbers on day one which are unlikely to grow from these levels on Saturday but should be up on Sunday.

Kabir Singh Box Office Day 2 Morning Occupancy:Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh hit the theatres on June 21 and it is being appreciated by the audiences. The film has raked in 20.21 crores on its opening day and it has become Shahid’s highest opener of all time.

Due to the positive word of mouth and good reviews, audiences are flocking the theatres in huge numbers and watching the film. It opened with a morning occupancy of 50-55% on its first day and become the second highest after Bharat (55-60%).

Now on its 2nd day, it is growing huge and now it has surpassed Bharat’s day 2 morning occupancy. Kabir Singh has taken the start of 60-65% in morning shows on the second day and it will grow further in the noon and evening shows. The second day is eyeing above 25 crores, which might be a game changer for Shahid!

Earlier talking about the challenges he faced to play Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor said, “Kabir Singh has been an extremely challenging film for me emotionally and physically. Since I had three distinct looks in the film, I had to transform myself to quite an extent.”

But him drinking is not shown in good light. He's shown in the second half of the movie to give up his old habits and move towards betterment. So, obviously Shahid has shown these emotional of loss, love, pain anger well enough to get the praises he deserves.
