Hello people.đ¤
Here`s one as we wait for tomorrow.
Kindly excuse any mistake, I`m kinda lazy to proofread. Happy reading!
Jealousy
"Hello,Mr. Shergill," she stormed in, without bothering to knock.
"Hi,Mrs. Shergill, you finally found some time from your busy schedules of fighting non-human species in unspecified realms. Thank you for gracing us with your presence, your excellency," Rakshit ranted mockingly without looking up from his oh-so-important file.
He was irritated. And miffed. And of course, she was to be blamed for his current mood.
Who told her to disappear in the morning without informing him? If there was something he hated, it was opening his eyes in the morning and not seeing her face. One year of marriage and he was turning into the very joru ka ghulam type of husband that he had accused Shikhar of being.
But that was totally Mrs. Shergill's fault. She had turned him like that.
"I am late because of you," Drishti said casually.
"Oh really," he looked up for the first time and to say he was stunned would be an understatement.
"What are you wearing!"
"It's a jumpsuit Mr. Shergill, can't you see. Are you dumb?" Drishti asked looking at him as if he had grown horns.
Of course, he could see it was a jumpsuit.
A nude one.
He had a love-hate relationship with nude colours since he loved them on Mrs. Shergill when she wore it for him. But, in circumstances like today, he hated them on her. It gave him thoughts that were not office-appropriate.
Yeah, where was he! The jumpsuit was kind of loose but the fabric belt above her waistline gave away her hourglass figure. He realised that the real danger was that red lipstick. How was he supposed to do the presentation later in the meeting when she would be sitting in the room, like that!
Other than her loud lipstick, the rest of her makeup was quite toned down. Oh, and her hair was parted on the side, just how he liked it.
But, still something looked amiss.
"How do I look, Mr. Shergill?" Drishti asked when she realised that he went frozen for some time.
Sexy! he gulped.
Being greeted with only silence, Drishti took the liberty of doing a catwalk that according to Divya worked like charm on men.
Still nothing!
Bewakoof Divi. No, wait. Itâs not Diviâs fault that her husband was such an unromantic and predictable creature.
She dragged back the chair in front of him so aggressively that the sound broke Rakshitâs reverie. And he could see that she was very annoyed as she huffed and puffed over a file, which she was trying to read. She has clearly misunderstood his ability to mask his expressions for indifference, he thought with a smirk.
âWhy are you smiling?â
âShould I take your permission before smiling now?â
âZip it!â
âYou didnât answer me? How do I look?â she tried again.
Silence.
âMR SHERGILL!â she nearly screamed.
âWhat?âhe snapped back, before standing up and proceeding to wear his coat. âAm I allowed to unzip now?â
âMr. Shergill what are you even saying! This is an office and I`m your PA here,â she said as a matter of fact, as she felt her cheeks heating at his brazen talks.
âYou just told me to zip my mouth Mrs. Shergill. So, I was simply asking you whether I could unzip my mouth and talk,â he finished and bent so low that Drishti had to turn her face to avoid any contact. âHaww Mrs. Shergill, what were you even thinking. This is not our bedroom Mrs. Shergill and I`m not your husband here,âhe said tongue in cheek, in a tone dripping with honey.
Flicking her now red nose, he took his file and asked her to follow him for the meeting.
--------------
The busy road allowed him to steal several glances at her, while she completely avoided him and looked the other way.
âDrishti,âhe nudged her.
âDo.not.talk.to.me,âshe said, still not looking at him.
âWhat`s wrong with you, Drishti. And where were you this morning,â he finished with a sigh as he felt his patience wearing thin.
âWhat`s wrong with me? Really? What`s wrong with you? I don`t get why you are even wasting your precious time on me. Why don`t you go and waste your time on that chudeil.â
âWhat are you even sayingâŚ.no, wait, what chudeil?â
âThat Lavanya!â she turned towards him fiercely.
He looked at her incredulously, finally understanding where the jumpsuit came from.
She was jealous.
Mrs. Shergill was burning with jealousy.
He had to bite his tongue to prevent himself from laughing at her
He could not afford another night on the couch after all.
It all started at the business party which he and Mrs. Shergill attended last night. His ex-girlfriend Lavanya had greeted him with a cheek kiss and this didn`t go down very well with Mrs. Shergill. He had tried to explain to her that it meant nothing, that in their business world this was a normal way to greet, but she wasn`t going to listen, was she? Seeing her so flared up because of the kiss, he took the liberty to tease her by telling her that she was boring.
Little did he knew that he was going to spend the night on the couch!
Since they generally did not drag their fights for more than one day, he had assumed in the morning that it was all forgotten. She had, after all, left a note saying she had to attend to something urgent. He assumed that her âsomething urgentâ was regarding a mission, how was he to know that it was all for him.
Turning to her, he could see she was throwing daggers with her eyes.
But wait!
âDrishti,âhe said, scandalised, âwhere is your sindoor?â
âWhat!â
âYou are not wearing sindoor, why is that so?â
âI got ready at the parlour, so I forgot. And why are you so bothered. Oh my god, don`t tell me that you are one of those men whose wife cannot go out of the house without sindoor?â she eyed him.
âThatâsnot the case,â he said simply before shifting his eyes to the road.
That really wasn't the case. He wasnât one of those possessive husbands. But the person with whom they were going to have a meeting with, was a known flirt. This deal is very important for his company and he was sure he would lose it if the man even attempted to flirt with her.
Peeking at her, he tried to see whether she was wearing her mangalsutra.
Phew! Thank God.
Although hidden partly by her hairs and partly by her clothes, he still managed to locate those black beads.
âSweetheart,âhe said, and Drishti turned to him immediately. After all, it was not everyday that Mr. Shergill would shower her with endearments.
âYou know I didnât mean it when I said boring,â he continued.
âWhy did you say it then?â
âI was just teasing you and,â
He stopped short when he saw Drishti bending and covering the light of her third eye with her hand.
Premonition.
He held her hand tightly and tried to find the closest parking. He has known her secret for long now, but he still wasnât used to them. He was not weird ed by it, no,far from that. Itâs just that the dangers that came by, as an extension, scared him. After the end of the Psachini saga, the twin sisters decided to use their powers for the good of mankind. And so, every time Drishti saw something, the two sisters would embark on a journey that terrified Shikhar and him. The selfish side of him tried stop her every single time, but she had reassured that she would be fine. And she has been. So,he had decided to take a back seat and just be a proud husband.
âAre you fine?â he said as soon as he parked the car.
âI am, I am, but I`ll have to go. Itâs important.â
âOkayy, butâŚDrishti, about yesterday, I was only teasing...I didnât mean it the way you took it,â he said, gesturing her change in style. âYou know, I like you the way you are. You don`t have toâŚâ
âI know Mr. Shergill,â she said with a smile, âThat stupid Divi said that I should take revenge for what you said,â she said, and then added coyly, âby seducing you. Anyway, I will go now,â she said hesitantly.
âMrs Shergill,â
She hummed in response as she dialled Divya`s number.
âYou don't have to put so much effort in seducing me. I`m already very much seduced around you. I`d show you a demo tonight,â he finished with a wink.
Besharam.
âI intend to hear more on that later.â
âI`d rather show you,â he said, earning a playful slap in return.
She bid him goodbye as soon as Divya answered the phone. He was actually relieved that she wasnât going to attend the meeting like that, he thought with a smile.
His smile left his face as he wondered whether it was okay to let Drishti go like that in those unspecified realms. What if those supernatural creeps fell in love with her and kept her there.
I wouldnât even know where to look for her, he thought, absolutely horrified.
He made a mental note to ask Mrs. Shergill about whether those supernatural species she had met were male.
That`s it from me.
Do leave your feedback guys, they mean a lot.
See you
