Shahid had a film right after Padmaavat last year too... Batti Gul meter Chalu. A movie that released on a partial holiday for Muharram which opened poorly 6.25 crores and was declared a flop (made 36. 77 crores). Make whatever you want out of these bo numbers as well.

You really want to get Shahid bashed. As I said before Im not even a Shahid hater (very indifferent towards him) but you seem to want get Shahid bashed. Good for him that he proved himself after so many years and so many attempts.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu has take a very ordinary opening of around 20% and this is on a partial holiday for Muharram. If the holiday was not there then it would be a poor start for the film. Despite having a boost of Muhharam the opening will not be among the top ten this year even though its one of the films this year to get a holiday start.

The film will need to show upward momentum and this is despite coming off a holiday and which will not be easy. The film needed a double digit opening day number but that is not going to happen going up the morning numbers unless there is a miraculous jump in numbers.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu had a low opening day as it collected 6.25 crore nett on day one and these collections came on Muharran which would have boosted collections by 20-30% so real value could be around 5 crore nett but that will be determined by where the film heads on Saturday and Sunday.

Nobody is above content. Batti was a bad movie. Shahid alone cant save it. Batti had a opening day of 6 crore and weekend of 22. Similar to Ranveer's Kill Dill which also had similar business.

Doesn't matter. Shahid has given much better performances in the past. One poorly written role in Padmaavat doesn't make Ranveer better actor than Shahid.

arrey bhai maine thori na bola ki Akki was in the same league.

I was just clubbing actors during the 2000s who were the top six as a whole, just like top stars barring the big six(although Sallu and Aamir are the only untouchable ones from that), this decade are Ranbir, Ranveer, Varun and Tiger.

Saif in 00s and Shahid this decade were not in that space, sirf utna hi toh bola, tune galat intercept kiya.

wouldn't it be more suitable to compare shahid to hrithik? HR is more of sk's contemporary than ranveer is in terms of career
