Babita's body language when she was facing Ashok was quite changed. She stood firm, upright, and looked at him with immense self-confidence. I wish she hadn't slapped Minnie but I'll wait until tomorrow to see what happens. I think after that, Minnie will tell her mother what she saw Ashok doing last time, which is why they will go the Khurana house and see Ashok mistreating Meeta firsthand.
I also felt the editing was off for the same reasons you all have mentioned.
Plus I wish I hadn't watched the promo video because when the episode aired, there was no element of surprise. I think it was smart to use the Zinda track to show progress in Babita learning to fight and teaching other women because the song is so full of josh. Sometimes music can achieve what conversations cannot. Without dialogues they still managed to capture important and beautiful moments, including where Babita eagerly turned to look at HS for approval once she was done beating up the boys. Her hairstyle also changed to reflect her new-found confidence.
HS was amused but super impressed despite being woken up in the middle of the night to the mother-daughter practice session. Through the entire song sequence, what I loved most was that even though he was admiring Babita, you could see that the adoration in his eyes for his first love, his daughter Minnie. When Naaembi and Kammo walked in to find them all practicing it was the sight of a perfect family: all strong, confident, and able to look after themselves.
In a way, HS has been grooming mother and daughter to fit in perfectly to become the family he must have always wanted, while they have lived up to his belief in their ability and given him new purpose in his previously colorful life.
Sigh... Such a beautiful show.
One more thing: Aniruddh is a master with accents. Not only has he done a UP one in the past, he's nailing the Haryanvi one and his Bengali pronunciation when saying "Ekla cholo re" was spot on!
