Bharat Third Day Business

Bharat dropped a little under 30% on its third day which is the normal drop after Bassi Eid but the drop on Bassi Eid was more than it should have been. The film collected 21.25 crore nett to take its total to 93 crore nett in three days. The film is out of the Eid affect in most places though it will be tomorrow when everything is back to normal.

The target for the film would have been 100 crore nett plus over the weekend for a blockbuster success but that drop on day two made the 100 crore nett mark nearly impossible. Blockbuster success now is very unlikley as its difficult to see the film going back towards that 35 or 40 crore nett mark on Sunday.

Now it is about the upward trajectory on Saturday. It could be muted in the places where the Eid phase is over the three day period but it mush show solid growth in places where Friday was normal day. The film is looking to do better in North than Mumbai as collectinns seem to be stronger in North.

The collections of Bharat over the first three days are as follow

Wednesday - 41,75,00,000 apprx

Thursday - 30,00,00,000 apprx

Friday - 21,25,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 93,00,00,000 apprx

The three day weekend numbers are the best of the year but that was a foregone conclusion even before the release of the film.

Dabangg 3 might be the HGOTY , who knows

I don't think it will cross 200's mark. This is just getting lower and lower.

What is the budget? I'd still not rule it out since Sat and Sun collections are yet to be seen...but if it underperforms on these days too...then another disappointing Eid BO collections for Bhai. Back to back that is.

Top Twenty Weekends All Time - Bharat 13th

Bharat had the thirteenth highest opening weekend of all time which is probably lower down the charts than an event should be but at the end of the day the film has collections on the board and the drops seen post the first day is the almost the normal course post Eid. The initial numbers may not be huge compared to some of the other biggies but for this film they are huge as the mass appeal of the film is limited especially if you take out Salman Khan.

The appeal for the film will be mainly for the multiplex audience across the country especially the bigger twenty five cities but it has managed to get the numbers up in smaller centres and single screens till now. This can be put down to the Eid factor or the Salman Khan star pull but it is this which will will probably take the film to success.

The record for Salman Khan is 115 crore nett with Tiger Zinda Hai and this is 22 crore nett less and if we go by the tax changes then that 22 crore nett margin becomes even more. But that is the difference between a film which appeals across the country to one which is not as universal.

There are seven films with a 100 crore nett plus first weekend. The top twenty opening weekends of all time are as follows.
