Alia is cute and acts fine. There's no need to be so negative about her. People should stop bashing her for no reason. I don't hate her but I don't like her either. I am tired of people always complaining about Alia.

You say she has the biggest movies, and just take a look at her filmography all the people/companies connected to those movies Dharma is in all of them barring Gully Boy, Sadak 2 coz that’s her family’s production,

Inshallah and RRR we all know how they happened. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dharma somehow gets involved with RRR if it hasn’t already.

I find her OK as an actor there’s nothing mind blowing about her performances another good performer wouldn’t be able to do if given the opportunity.

She has someone making sure she gets the best of the pick and being a decent enough actress she does well. Raazi could have done just as well with any good actress of it had the backing provided by Dharma. But I’ll give it to her that she is driven, and is always looking for the next opportunity, she may not have that X factor but she is ambitious. The opportunities falling on her plate gives her a huge advantage to the rest.

It reminds me of an interview Kriti Sanon did, she was responding to people saying she only does the same kind of movies. She replied that they all want to do something different but she doesn’t have those opportunities so she does best with whatever comes her way.

she is a good actress and has grabbed every opportunity that has come her way. I don't blame her at all for grabbing opportunities that are given to her on a platter. If it was offered to any other actress, they would grab it too ( except Kangana maybe).

I would rather blame KJO for all of this.

Personally as someone who likes to acknowledge and discover genuine talent, she is not good as she is touted out to be. I don't buy in the whole Alia is the best thing since sliced cheese narrative that's been created around with such careful PR. She sucked at her emotional scenes in Gully boy. I don't have to watch to Raazi to know she prolly sucked at her emotional scenes there, too. If actresses like Bhumi, taapsi, etc, were given the opportunities she is and touted as the best thing to grace indian cinema every other day by all of KJO's puppets and had all of KJO's support, then they would be hogging all these big opportunities, too. And people would be singing their praises, too.

But, albeit, I'm too jaded to buy into the carefully constructed narrative around her. It's easy to see through the bullshit then.

Because the nepotism debate worked in her favour. She is seen as a good product of nepotism.

Nepotism was always there but aliya's case is something else.

Every actress when reached top wasn't taking away all the best scripts.

Sridevi in 80s had competition in meenakshi and jaya

Madz with juhi Sri , juhi then kajol, Krishna etc. All had good work

Then aish rani and priety which was the shortest dominating period by actresses. Then Katrina kareena pc all had good scripts.

Then deepika started dominating but other actresses like Kat anushka got good work.

But now in Aliya case the ratio of good scripts is so biased in her favour which makes people dislike her bcoz her competition didn't get a chance. For e.g.. she wants a movie kjo gets it. So when u have best scripts, u will easily get to top.

That's y she is not considered true number one. Yes she gets the hits, but give best scripts to other they will turn it too. Aliya wont make stree or aashiqi 2 superhits. That is difference. Shardha don't get so many best scripts but she can make movies hit .

So the theory that her rivals can't compete with her is wrong. They need the opportunity.

Her rival get a hit movie, she wants to work with that director and she gets it. So you see what I am saying

I agree that they werent taking the best/all scripts. but at the end of the day, isnt there only one actress of each gen who makes it big?

If alia was competing with shraddha, and parineeti-it is obvious that she has emerged the star of her gen. Now if this is just hyped up, PR im not sure-but from the media perspective, I get this perception.

The film opportunties will obviously go first serve to the stars of their gen. alia is the only actress in her 20's who has achieved a level of stardom much like priyanka, deepika, katrina had. They also got huge films in their prime.

So is it fair to hate on her for getting big films when she is supposedly on the verge of media based stardom.

^These are not my opinions..I am just trying to make a debate and how the media categorizes actresses, etc.

Alia needs 2 or 3 threads like these every week,for the next 12 months.

It will be a lot work for her PR.

Her face,body,fashion,personality,BF is not going to sustain her.Just keep plugging that she has got big roles..sorry films.It will help-sort of.

The best actress line ..went for a toss after Kalank.Alia's big film as mainstream singing dancing heroine,failed.

Now ,what is left? She has big films..not that any young heroine is crying over any one of them.

I am baffled that people think Karan Johar has that much power. That he gets Alia every film she wants. It's preposterous and slightly idiotic to think like that. Like where did that even come from?

It is true that whenever there is a new Queen B - she gets the most haters and all kinds of conspiracies, but this one is so boring, it's tiring.

It's not Alia's fault that Parineeti took a 3 year break (well it kinda is, but you know what I mean). Pari also rejected Piku, which would have made her ahead of Alu through to 2016. Shraddha was her next competitor and she ended her own career by doing the disastrous Haseena Parkar / Rock On 2 / Half Girlfriend. She is working her way back and is doing well but so far behind. Kriti is doing very well right now, she has a few films lined up for the next 6 months - let's see how she does - Alia has nothing in that period.

But the fact is Alia Bhatt is the number one actress today - so she WILL and SHOULD get all the best roles. That's just how it works. If we said in 1989 that "omg it's not fair Sridevi gets Chandni / Chaalbaaz / Lamhe" - how silly would that sound.
